No other organization can provide the support and services an artist can find at Pro Arts. Additionally, Oakland needs to offer such a program because the affluent people coming to Oakland to occupy the new downtown lofts chose Oakland because it offers this type of service.
The elected city officials should remember that a society that does not value its artists is a society doomed to destruction.
Artists like others do vote and deserve to receive the support of their elected officials. We are not second class citizens. It is just and only that we create these objects or works that fill your lives with beauty. |
