3161 Gillian HallPlease do not cut arts funding. It is more important than this short email can do justice. Children need to develop their artistic sides so they can be balanced human beings. Lack of artistic development leads to crime, addiction and toerh kinds of sicknes. Please .
3162 Adrian RosallyI whole heartedly believe in the creative outlet...
3163 Carol CrissThe last thing we need to do in economic hard times is to deprive the people, and children in particular, of the joy of creativity through the arts. Remember the last time we crashed, a public arts program was instituted by the Roosevelt administration. Go look at Coit Tower or at many of the other public buildings in the area that are adorned with art in a time when bread lines were very long.

3178 charityromeroThis could be the worst thing for Oakland. Please do not cut Oakland Arts. The Arts community in Oakland is one of the most valuable in the country. Artist here help support growth for our community though inspiring others. Places like Mocha and Crucible whom both work with children in our city will be greatly impacted by this. I urge you to not make the mistake of taking funding from the greatly important group of people.

3187 AnonymousThis is a most valuable resources for artists and crafts people residing and working in the East Bay. No other organization can provide the support and services an artist can find at Pro Arts. Additionally, Oakland needs to offer such a program because the affluent people coming to Oakland to occupy the new downtown lofts chose Oakland because it offers this type of service. The elected city officials should remember that a society that does not value its artists is a society doomed to destruction. Artists like others do vote and deserve to receive the support of their elected officials. We are not second class citizens. It is just and only that we create these objects or works that fill your lives with beauty.
