102 Dennis McCartinThis is just another case where big government takes it out on the citizen who has worked hard to own property and who has given her life to building real community. The least you can do is make sure she is adequately compensated so whe can find a living place that will allow her to continue her important work in peace.
103 Jim BowneWhy not re-open the rest area further up the mountain which worked fine...?
104 AnonymousPlease, use the rest area you already have in place, and have more awareness of your community's overall needs. Money is not the sole reason we live here! Thank you.

111 Susan KollstedtIf the county continues to build this center knowing the impact it will have on Sharon Miranda, I believe it fair to compensate her for the total loss of her property at market value...

115 Will SannerMy name is Will Sanner and I am a citizen of Ashland Oregon. I too am opposed to your proposal to build a rest area on I-5 between exits No. 14 and exit 19. The Business Community and the ODOT has no right to overide the People's Community using the excuse of "imminent domain" is this is the case. Please correct if I am wrong here. The business community will not be negatively effected by such a move unless of course an espresso stand or a massage "parlor" would open its doors a few yards away for the passerby. . As I see it the business community will have a positive impact and the residental community will have a much bigger negative impact in comparison. In addition the ODOT already has a rest area on Interstate 5 ( I think ) betweem exit's No.24 and 19. Why in the name of so many negative impacts would the ODOT propose such a project? I have heard that there is a law that a rest area has to be built at so many intervals in the state. Is there a law that says each rest area has to be a certain distance from each other? Or is the ODOT planning on closing the existing rest area? Last but not even close to not least, what does the Phoenix and Talent business community say about closing the current rest area?

117 Rebecca Kaplerthe weigh station just down the road off I-5 from this proposed area could very easily be converted to include the information center. and eliminate any need to destroy peoples lives and property
118 Timothy NoblesPlease consider re-activating the old rest area with a ban on trucks.

124 Christopher IversonPlease do not build this so close to the city. The rest stop should be built further south. It does not make sense to build this rest area so close to residential neighborhoods. Thank you, Christopher Iverson

135 Irene GasdeI wholeheartedly agree. It's the honorable and responsible thing to do. Let's treat each other the way we would ask to be treated if we were the ones impacted - because we are.
