Retailing is changing, shops will be closing because of the high cost of rents and rates, out of town shopping will lose its edge and people will look to the market
more for their shopping trips.
Market traders need more support confident that their councillors appreciate their role in Northampton shopping. Retail is changing. |
| 74 | Anonymous | I see no point in enlarging the "entertainment" area as nobody seems to take much notice of what goes on there anyway, I suggest leaving things as they are. Better still, reduce the amount the stallowners have to pay to the council (or to whoever "owns" the space) to encourage more business, money and variety to the market place. |

| 76 | James | keep tthe market in the market other wise it will no longer be a market!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 |
| 77 | Anonymous | The council have no experience at working as market traders and therefore should take advise from working market traders. The cost of the stall covers should be investigated as they are extremely expensive compared to the best quality covers available. -laying loud music when shopping is very disturbing and .and is not helpful in comunicating with the stall holders. |

| 79 | Josh Turner | I walk through the town centre everyday, and the huge empty space should be used to suit the traders. |
| 80 | kate coyle | The market is very good and very reasonably priced and i use it for lots of things and i think its a landmark of northampton and would be criminal for it to not to continue in market square |
| 81 | John Gayton |
| 82 | A L Crook | The Historic Northampton Market should be upheld by the traders as stated in the Charter of King Richard I [1189].
Too many old Market places have been lost to beurocrats greed. |

| 87 | Gerard Connor | I live 30 miles away and I would no longer visit Northampton if the market was moved from the Historic Market Square. |
