602 KerryBowmanCAI am deeply appalled by the fact that drilling in this wildlife refuge is even being considered. It should not be up for discussion. The refuge was created to protect the wildlife. This means no intrusion of industry. What kind of insanity is this? How can people be so uncaring about other forms of life on the planet? It is now very clear that we are all interdependent. Not just humans, but all the other animals as well. If we put certain animals in danger and threaten their habitat, we are essentially threatening ourselves. How long will it take for people to realize this? I have no words to describe how disappointed I am. But I am hopeful that someone might still be able to listen to reason.

Just so we can fill our tank of gas in our huge gas guzzling Hummer to drive to Burger King and order another Whopper. Animals of Alaska and anywhere for that matter shouldnt have to pay for our lifestyles. Its sick and unjust. We are already killing off Arctic wildlife with Global Warming why do we need to add to their demise?? All Congress cares about is getting rich and having power. We are far to rich and greedy in America. I am not proud to say I am American. We destroy all that is beautiful and do to many terrible things.

That is of far greater urgency than oil for our automobiles AND our military interests (which is more to the point of the government's desire to drill). LEAVE THE WILDERNESS ALONE! Its unspoiled habitat is more important than the plebian, mundane interests of the federal government and the self-serving electorate of both parties who inhabit it. Our environmental policies have been defined by one failure after another as we forsake them to pursue money, corporate interests and military might, none of which is particularly relevant, and pale in importance to the magnitude of our responsibility to the maintenance of our wilderness areas for future generations.
