| 1951 | Anonymous | Anonymous | CA | US | I have been in the Car Audio Industry for about 10 years now. I have many cars that would classify as a "Boom Car" however the sound RARLEY gets turned up. Why Rarely you ask? We have built a demo car inside the shop and there is no need to use my personal cars anymore. I have a few things to say about the comments I am reading on this petition. First off, we are not all scum. Maybe 5% of our customers are actual scum. The rest of them are enthusiasts. They either love the sound quality of the system, or how loud they can get it. We do when selling them their amps and subwoofers teach them about hearing loss and also about local laws.
We have built extreme sound quality cars that people like you would have destroyed, however Sound Quality cars are dampened to keep all outside sound out. And they also play their system with the windows up. Also… the Sound Quality cars only reach about 135db MAX.
Now… that being said, we have built cars that have been metered at 160+ db. These people put in a lot of money to accomplish this. However at this level they cant just drive down the street with the system up like that… there is no way they could. At those sound levels there is a hard time breathing and the vision is blurred.
final thought...
Fines are ok, impounding, crushing or destroying vehicles is not ok |
| 1952 | Robert | Dyer | MA | US | I thought i was the only one being driven Mad over these cars, they park and sit for twenty minutes or an hour and wake me up at anytime. The vibration makes ear pieces useless,if im driving it messes up my hearing and concentration. it really does make normal people who by nature are not violent to think of violent war like ways of destroying this enemy. I pray that congress stops this. thank you |
| 1953 | Anonymous | Anonymous | CA | US | I am really sorry to say that the city that I live in has no noise restrictions, this is very sad to hear. where I live there is a neighbor that own one of those boomcars and does not care about the feelings of the entire neiborhood. driving us crazy days and nights. this law has to pass, those thugs must be punished. |

| 1965 | Anonymous | Anonymous | TX | US | I have been fighting our neighbors for 1 - 1/2 years to get them to stop playing their sub-woofers from 10pm to 7am. We finally were able to get our councilman to give the Arlington PD power to write tickets without the PD being witnesses. |
| 1966 | Anonymous | Anonymous | OH | US | I hate to have to pay the medical bills for all the deaf 30 year olds this country is going to have! |
| 1967 | Anonymous | Anonymous | CA | US | Please please do whatever it takes to ban these idiots from blaring their window rattling bass at all hours of the day and night. |
| 1968 | Anonymous | Anonymous | TX | US | Enough is enough. These boom cars are out of control at all hours of the day and night. |
| 1969 | Edward | Ehlert | WI | US | I live in Green Bay and the near 24/7 boom car assault on my person comes from all directions. A citizen complaint system in the police dept has done little to fix it, especially since the booming comes from all directions. It has caused me serious mental AND physical health problems, including but not limited to extreme difficulty sleeping, severe migraines, increased stress, and exacerbated effects of depression. Boomers cannot be approached in a civil manner since they lack the respect of normal citizens, so more drastic action must be taken. |
| 1970 | Jason | Beauchamp | AZ | US | This is a must sign.
I am all for enjoying your music. But I really do not understand why in the fuck people need to raddle their fucking brain out of their fucking head and the people around them as they drive down the road. Also why do they need to fucking raddle their Neighbors fucking windows out of their houses as they drive by. This is really inconsiderate and should be against the law. People are really getting tired of this shit and it needs to be stopped. If you cannot use your subwoofer responsibly, then we need to ban them from the road entirely.
Yes, some of you are saying "This is america and they can blast their subwoofer if they want." but remember, the rest of us have rights to our peace as well and they are taking away our rights by blasting us out of our homes. |

| 1974 | Leslie | Gibb | NV | US | Im on my last nerve with this bass booming crap, i live in a quiet cul de sac, however over the wall is a main st and these boom cars are quite frankly ruining my quality of life, all hours day and night, these morons know they are annoying and get a kick out of it ! heavy fines and confiscation of equipment is the answer ! |
| 1975 | Philip | Lacher | MN | US | As an Iraq War vet, I came home with a 30% loss of hearing. Some noises, like those emitted from "boom cars" also cause a great deal of pain for me. I also see communities who post signs which say, "Vehicle Noise Laws Enforced." Boom cars should be covered in this category and either are not or the law is not enforced. |
| 1976 | chris | kirkman | FL | US | I simply cannot wait for this noise to stop. only people doing this are idiots that want attention they did not get from mommy. They have no homes or family just loud booming cars (big deal monkey) |
| 1977 | Mar Mar | Martin | NV | US | Boom cars and low frequency home systems are operated by the most irresponsible and inconsiderate individuals. I had one renting behind me, and he made it miserable for me to even live in my own home! I had all the affected, surrounding neighbors sign a petition, and notified our HOA, which notified the homeowner. A hearing was held to fine the homeowner and renter. Nothing changed though and I wanted to put my home up for sale. It’s ridiculous to be run out of one’s own home by some low life! He finally moved out and there are normal people living behind us. There are a couple of boom cars that drive through the neighborhood and wake me up out of a sound sleep. It’s messed up! I’ve heard talk on the news, etc. about banning leaf blowers, yard trimmers, etc., because they’re too loud. Give me a break! Maintaining one’s yard is a necessity. The low frequency, bass pounding sound systems are categorized as “unnecessary noise.” In the state of Nevada, an individual’s music can’t go 20 feet off their property. People don’t respect this. I’m all for banning them! They make me cringe. |
| 1978 | Anonymous | Anonymous | AZ | US | My wife hate to even come home at night because of the car bass, motorcycles and "performance mufflers" they are putting on their 4 cylinder, 130 hp cars. Really? In our neighborhood, there is a constant invasion at all hours of the day and we have no peace. We both work very hard and we have no refuge when we get home. We have already spent $3500 on windows and sound proofing materials and will most likely spend another $4000 just to get the sound down to tolerable levels. We have become extremely sensitive to noise because of these morons. |
| 1979 | Anonymous | Anonymous | CA | US | Sub-woofer vibrations are noise pollution and a nuisance. Unfortunately my husbad thinks I am in a minority group and that 90% of the planet loves it. It is truly the one source of discourse in our marriage. Each time I hear him fire up the noise, I want to choke him. |
| 1980 | shereen | kaufman | IL | US | my neighbor next door plays his bass lound, it rattles my house, hurts my ears, drives my dog nuts, they have no consideratoin at all, they dont care. even if i keep my windows closed it is such an annoyance.I have asked them on a daily basis to keep it down, they dont. i get little sleep, A huge headache, overall it affects me and my family, these boom boom noises schould be banned, worse then jets overhead. |
| 1981 | Ronald | Williamson | MD | US | |
| 1982 | Anonymous | Anonymous | TX | US | We need to enforce the existing laws regarding noise pollution.

| 1997 | Charles | Bush | NM | US | Boom cars are used in Alamogordo, NM for the purpose of announcing the arrival of a drug dealer dispensing the drugs. When we hear one we can watch them dispense the drugs through the window of the car. |
| 1998 | Anonymous | Anonymous | NJ | US | |
| 1999 | Ainsley Jo | Phillips | IN | US | Why are law-enforcement people more focused on how many cats share your home or whether you use marijuana in the privacy of your home than they are on putting a damper pedal on loud, nasty, intrusive noise pollution such as these boom cars, unmuffled vehicles, etc. Time for a priority check, imo... |
| 2000 | Richard | Klecker | KY | US | Noise Pollution generating equipment should be BANNED because simply trying to regulate its use here and there is ineffective. Stricter legislation must be implemented to control these POLLUTING devices, just as other devices that create harmful, toxic pollution are banned. |
