Even in my home I am continually subjected to the reverberation of the unwanted "thump" "thump" "thump" every day every night seven days a week. SICK OF IT!

It has been documented by the World Health Organization (WHO) and others that boom car noise: * Causes physical damage at the cellular level * Can damage human organs * Induces hearing loss * Impedes learning and cognitive development processes * Evokes hypertension * Leads to aggressive behavior * Causes stress and sleep loss * Leads to depression These should be reason enough to ban the sale and use of this type of HI/LF noise maker. I want my hours of sleep back, lower blood pressure, and the right to be able to read a book in my own home.

On your third loud noise strike, your vehicle is DESTROYED! (giggle) So far we had nearly a dozen vehicles destroyed in our town. HEY, you did it to yourself. If you can't read and understand the rule, no noise propagating beyond 50 feet of your vehicle, you don't deserve to drive. In simple English, your just plane ignorant in respecting your fellow mankind's rights to peace & quiet. Sure you have your rights but their infringing on others, this will not be allowed in America. Personally, I just as soon send your type of people over to Iraq & let them enjoy decapitating you. BUT this is America & we're supposed to love our fellow man..... and we do try but to a point. Think of a jet aircraft taking off, then imagine how loud it must be in those cars! It is pretty obvious the people in them must be as deaf as a post! They not only disturb people they threaten the safety of others by not hearing EMS, the Police, and trains and other traffic. Their is no reason to make these. Most of these people who do play these at loud levels are white trash, thugs, and drug dealers.

Also, someone with epilepsy can actually have a seizure from this loud noise. It just has to stop. In all these comments here, I note a common pathetic theme: "Why won't SOMEONE do something about this?" Stop complaining and do something that will make a difference! There are only 1,700 signatures on this site... for a NATIONAL petition!?! This approach is inept. The 50' vehicle noise law is common to most local jurisdictions. Police increase enforcement when complaints are numerous and frequent. With this particular nuisance, I understand why most people don't complain (like they would with a noisy neighbor). The noise is unbearable and I'm trying to seek help from my local City Officials and Police Department to no avail as they will not enforce the meager municipal noise code that is outdated and needs to be modified for todays boom boxes. I try to close my doors and windows to alleviate a portion of the loud vibrations and deep tones from the boom box cars that drive by through the days and nights. It is summer and by closing everything it's very hot and unlivable. I don't know what to do and I'm at my witts end!

It is sometimes so loud it jolts us out of a dead sleep. Noise polution is very stressful and is linked to insomnia, depression and anxiety. They are now studing how it relates to heart disease as well as it's effect on the unborn fetus.
