| 1655 | Florence | Miller | TX | US | Someone said to me the other day "That's the way it is" and my reaction then was - It's that way because we allow it, so it really is time to stop allowing it. |
| 1656 | Anonymous | Anonymous | TN | US | I have been awakened in the middle of the night hundreds of by these inconsiderate spoiled thugs. No one should be allowed to have a noisemaker in their car that can be heard six blocks away that they can use at their own descretion to wake the entire neighborhood for their own sick gratification. |
| 1657 | john | trefry | GA | US | there is no excuse for this kind of behavior in our communities. it is not a right, it is not expression, and it is not going to be tolerated any longer. this sort of behavior is nothing less than assault and intimidation by a group of people who are too lazy to empower themselves through making good in their communities and would rather shell out a little bit of their useless money to buy a persona and a presence. we the people cannot take back our air alone. how do you talk sense into someone who clearly has none. the only answer is to legislate them back into the useless and silent blobs they were before they got their stereos. we can't take this anymore. help us!!! |

| 1663 | Art | Sichling | TN | US | Just ban these boomcar morons and outlaw the noise. |
| 1664 | Lou | Cooper | GA | US | Ban boom cars because they are used as weapons of intimidation and acoustical terrorism in the hands of disrespectful and ignorant people. |
| 1665 | Anonymous | Anonymous | LA | US | The shops which sell these amplifiers should be forced to stop selling or face severe fines or closure. The drivers should be prosecuted. Maybe if someone started taking potshots at these assholes as they drove by they would stop. |
| 1666 | Anonymous | Anonymous | HI | US | By all means this needs to be adressed to our politicians. I am USN Retired and am planning on creating & patent an electronic jammer which is passive and non-interfering with anything but boom cars sound systems that we can post it on our properties and send a signal out simmilar to a police radar to fry their system while simutaneously recording the decibels for presentation to the law when they start crying. They think it makes them a prominent figure of their little circles of idiots. I have personally confronted a couple in the past. They back down real quick when confronted or drive away faster... They don't intimidate me. |
| 1667 | Anonymous | Anonymous | TN | US | I am all for personal freedoms, including the freedom of speech. However, freedoms are only viable if they do not infringe on the freedoms of others. While a person should be allowed to enjoy whatever music they like in the privacy of their own car, they should not be allowed to force everyone else within a mile radius to listen to that music against their will. However, the issue is not just musical taste. The revebrations caused by these so-called boomcars are so powerful that they drown out all other sound nearby, and they are low enough not be noticeably dampened even by cinderblock walls. I've seen these things set off car alarms from fifty yards away! More significant still, I've personally noticed that I develop headaches after one of these boomcars drives by my apartment building, and the headaches are not so quick to leave as the cars that cause them. So please, Mr.Boomcar-driver, by all means, listen to your music, just turn it down so that only you become deaf, not everyone around your car as well! If you don't, I sincerely hope the cops make you. They should, after all, protect the peace, and you are distrubing mine! |
| 1668 | Jeanette | Russo | NV | US | I can't stand the constant assault every few minutes of a drive bye boom car shaking my home.
Please pass some kind of laws to first give a warning ticket to the offender and if they persist the law should be confiscation of the car and any continuation will result in loss of driving privilidges. |
| 1669 | John | Trusty | FL | US | The noise that comes from other cars has gotten so bad, even us relatively peaceful individuals could be pushed to road rage. Something must be done. We must regain our society as somewhat courteous. |
| 1670 | Jennifer | Chambers | CA | US | This is beyond a nuisance, it is a health emergency!! Between loud base music coming from cars and homes, loud motorcycles racing around the block for fun, and barking dogs coming from almost every home in my neighborhood, how could I possibly be able to enjoy my property? The Declaration of Human Rights Articles 24 & 25 states that everyone has the right to rest and leisure, and to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family. The WHO has declared that noise pollution, especially Force-Feed Noise into the Domestic Environment, causes disruption to the autonomic and endocrine functions severely enough to catapult the entire family into a state of frequent agitation and near constant distress, thereby setting in motion a predictable process of physical, mental, and emotional deterioration. With all this noise pollution how are my rights not being violated? Not only is this noise invasion a serious health problem, many places have noise and animal control ordinances dealing with these problems, but they are ignored by the authorities who are supposed to uphold them. California has declared that noise is a health problem and that it be addresses in the general plan of every city or town, incorporated or not, and yet noise pollution is still being ignored. Something must be done. We may live in a ‘free country’ but since when does that mean being free to disrupt the lives and affect the health of everyone around you? |
| 1671 | I Have a Loud | Car Stereo | | | i think this is total bs... you should only punish those that drive around and play their music loud... not the ones who do it for a hobby... and by banning this industry believe it or not it would put a big hole in our economy... whoever thought of this is not that smart and to compare it to a drug is rediculouse... the reasons that drugs are bad are cause of the effect to the user... it is only the user's fault if they go deaf in the first place and banning it would be just like banning the automobile industry... i could argue that cars pollute the air i breathe and it is my right to have clean air to breath... give it a break... punish those that use the equipment to disturb others... not those who make a hobby of it |
| 1672 | Anonymous | Anonymous | TN | US | Illegal aliens and their boom cars are causing havoc throughout the country! They must be stopped now! |
| 1673 | boom | cars | CO | US | so what are you going to do about loud muscle cars, how about those honda's with the fart cans on them ,oh how about the harleys.you guys are just a bunch of cry babies |
| 1674 | Mr. | Boom Man | CA | US | Hi,
Im a terrorist because I own a "Boom Boom Machine"
I am intentionally trying to kill everybody with my speakers. Sound, it is inescapable in our society. These loud machines are no more obnoxious than an emergency vehicle, jet airplane, muscle car or honking horns. Apparently, terrorists are invading the U.S. so maybe its time to get the hell out of here if your not trying to be around us. Thank you for your time |
| 1675 | Debra | Stasiukiewicz | FL | US | Tampa has heard enough of the crap that goes down our streets every day by inconsiderate idiots that don't have the money for their rent or food, but they have a sound system that will blow my ear drums out while they go and get their govt. checks for their living needs. People just want to piss others off. Please Grow up. |
| 1676 | Cries | Crawford | CA | US | My Hobby is killing the boom car bitches who passing me by, please allow and respect my hobby ;) These low level poor idiot didn't do anything good but asking food stamp wasted tax resource, they should be eliminate. |
| 1677 | Kenneth | Parizo | FL | US | Boom box cars violate my rights and authorities will do nothing about them. The people with them do not care about anything but themselves. |
| 1678 | Anonymous | Anonymous | FL | US | I have cancer live in what used to be a quiet neighborhood cannot afford to move as my husband is a retired US Navy Sailor a viet-nam vet who can not stand the boom boom boom of our neighbors audio systems. They are so loud they knock the knick knacks off my shelfs. I sure do wish congress would do something to ban them. |
| 1679 | Christopher | Mullins | CA | US | |
| 1680 | Anonymous | Anonymous | MI | US | I work in Flint, Michigan and boom car noise here is almost incessant even though there is a noise ordinance in place. I have to put up with this noise all day at my work and can't explain how stressed out I get. Calls to the police have proven to be futile. The problem is very simple: the law is not being enforced. If these thugs are aware of of the laws and their consequences, only then will we slowly start grinding away at this nuisance. |
| 1681 | Anonymous | Anonymous | GA | US | These type systems cause health problems and are a definite highway safety problem. In 20 years we will have a generation of deaf adults that will be a burden on the taxpayers. STOP IT NOW!!! |
| 1682 | Anonymous | Anonymous | FL | US | I love music too. I keep my windows up or wear earphones when out in the yard. It's about time the laws are enforced to stop people from forcing their noise on other people. It's always the urbanites or wannabes and if they live in your neighborhood they are always the renters. The police really need to step it up. In these times of tight budgets, they could generate a ton of money by issuing tickets and make our neighborhoods more peaceful. |
| 1683 | Anonymous | Anonymous | MA | US | It's not about free speech: boom cars and motorcycles think it's cool to aggravate everyone. That there are mufflers that can make cars louder is insane. Thank you, Ronald Reagan for making government de-regulation the norm. Now we all have to suffer so companies can cater to jerks. Maybe they'd change their mind if they ever had to undergo surgery and the doctor slipped because of their friends driving by. |
| 1684 | George | Ganssle | NY | US | The worst scenario for me is when I'm driving through a big city in my 18-wheeler and traffic comes to a stop and I have the great misfortune of idling right next to one of these rude, selfish lowlifes who force their noise on my innocent ears. |
| 1685 | ken | favata | NV | US | stereos are only part of the problem - we also need to ban loud dirtbikes, motorcycles, scooters, and acrs and trucks. My idiot neighbor INTENTIONALLY modified his Ford truck exhaust to run as loud as a jet engine. |
| 1686 | mike | Owen | CA | | I will gladly be an activest for this cause. Feel free to contact me. |
| 1687 | Anonymous | Anonymous | KY | US | Please stop the noise. I have not had a good nights sleep in years because of these Boom cars. My County goverment in Bullitt County
Ky refuse to do anything about it. Guess its not news worthy. |
| 1688 | Anonymous | Anonymous | FL | US | This noise is an intrusion INTO my home from the OUTSIDE. It has to stop. |
| 1689 | Anonymous | Anonymous | TN | US | I feel it is a shame that people signing this petition are compelled to do so anonymously. However, after reading the belligerent response from one of your readers, I understand peoples concern that many of these car boomers are more than just an ignorant annoyance. Many of these people are anti-social and dangerous.
When a person can't reply to a website without resorting to profanity and hostility, it's best we keep them at at distance. Jail seems like a good idea! |
| 1690 | George | Ganssle | NY | US | |
| 1691 | Anonymous | Anonymous | TX | | |
| 1692 | Anonymous | Anonymous | GA | US | I always know when my neighbor up the street is home. You can hear him as soon as he enters the neighborhood. I can be in the back of my house and hear is loud stereo and he lives around the corner. He has been asked by several neighbors to turn it down so out of protest his father got a stereo put in his truck and now they both turn them up just to annoy. |
| 1693 | Michael | Vaughan | CA | US | Noise Home Intrusion
Loud Deep Base resonance from Car Stereos
Sounds like a BIG Base Drum being pounded on in my front yard, entering my home and disturbing my peace. |
| 1694 | Anonymous | Anonymous | KY | US | If Governments do not act effectively against the daily incivilities inflicted by some people on everybody else, not only will such incivility grow, but it's victims will draw the conclusion that governments are either impotent or indifferent in the face of the problem. That in turn will bing consequences for both individuals and society that we do well to try to avoid." DR. TONY WRIGHT

| 1697 | Anonymous | Anonymous | MN | US | It's not just the punks with the cars. They go home and turn on the home stereo system too. |
| 1698 | Mary Ann | Ferrante | NY | US | |
| 1699 | Stephen | Kole | NY | US | Enforcement would be enhanced by the purchase and distribution to local authorities of decimeters, calibrated devices which show ambient sound pressure levels in decibels. Some may even be equipped with frequency analyzers.
I am all for tight regulation of the production of noise and I heartily support noise abatement in all sectors. |
| 1700 | Joseph | Dziewa | NY | US | Loud music is a bad enough annoyance, but without the earth-shaking bass I can at least close the windows and muffle it. Sub-woofers bring a whole different kind of loud. I shouldn't have to leave the neighborhood to get peace just because of one obnoxious citizen. I could put in ear plugs, lock myself in a closet in the basement, and without some loud rumbling noise of my own, the monotonous bass line coming from some teenager enjoying his tweaked-out sound system down the street would still be pounding into my skull. Someone screaming obscenities at me on my front lawn couldn't be nearly as invasive and obnoxious. What gives people the right to casually invade other people's homes and lives like this? |
