The undersigned oppose House File 1681, Rep. Fran Bradley's current proposal to penalize MFIP recipients who receive federal housing assistance by imposing a $200 reduction in their MFIP benefits. The $200 penalty would be devasting to many low-income families.
Passage of HF 1681 will trap more families in poverty and will lead to increased homelessness.
We urge you to reject the current proposal to tax certain MFIP recipients and request that you find more constructive solutions for balancing Minnesota's budget. |
