Virginia Beach has plenty of available housing for its residents. It is time to say "NO" to building on every inch of land available. We need to conserve and enjoy what we have before it is too late. Please leave this land for pleasure so everyone can enjoy it.
Please preserve our valuable natural resources.
Over the years the area they wish to develop has become a beautiful and valuable natural resource for wildlife, and a necessary water filtration system for the Lynnhaven River. There is new effort to restore the oysters to the Chesapeake Bay, and here these people want to destroy a wetlands area; it just doesn't make sense.
My wife and I STRONGLY urge that this project or any other like it be totally rejected by the City Council and all other appropriate bodies, for the reasons outlined here!
Go get em! Don't let them build that monstrosity on the wetlands. thank you
Please do not build on this wetland. there are already numerous condos in the area that are not selling
This development and the ultimate destruction of the Tidal Salt Marshes surrounding it must be STOPPED at ALL costs.Screw there develop for profit crap or the reulting real estate taxes

Please do not let this land be developed!
We need to force our city leaders to think about the future that we leave the next generation and those that follow. It amazes me that anyone could even consider Indigo Dunes as a possible developmental option.
I also own@ Lesner Villas
We need to preserve as much as we can in that area of the bay for recreationl land use, not over develop with high priced private development for profit.

What else can developers do to destroy the beauty of Shore Drive? Happy to sign

Can't we keep a LITTLE bit of natural space in this money hungry city?
I am furious that we may be robbed of the ONLY strip of land practically left in Virginia Beach in 23451 or 23455 zip. I travel Shore drive daily from Thoroughgood to SVBGH and back.. The traffic is horrible as it is and the Duck In project hasn't even started. How many times a day do the Sandler's travel the road???? Lets do whatever it takes. I used to walk back there 2 times a week and miss seeing the beautiful red winged blackbirds, the blackberries in June, and the different wildlife. Sarah Keasey
don't build any more condos preserve the charm of our area

Instead of giving money to the developers, how about using our tax dollers for something we could all enjoy. Purchase the land for public use and develop it into a park

Shore drive corridor is over populated as it is,to add more congestion is lunacy! Being a citizen I 've watched what has happened in what used to be our "Green" zone to developement get out of control, and the traffic is horrible ! Because you approve before you improve the the roads! And that's all I have to say about it....For now!

The City has turned down previous proposals at this location under different ownership. Why would the City change its policy simply based on a new (wealthier and more influencial) owner? This is the last signifiant wetlands area in this area of Virginia Beach. The population density in Ocean Park is already too high to absorb the environmental impact.
There are many reasons NOT to develop this parcel of land. And, all of them are logical. If you have lived in this area for more than a few years, you can notice a difference in traffic and land use. To put this kind of development on this particular spit of land would be the worst kind of planned growth and development. Listen to the experts. They know.

I own my property but I currently have it rented out. Iive in Northern Va and would be happy to do to help out anyway I can up here or down there.
Way too much for the area. Preserve the good attributes of VaBch but looking at sustainable gov't (read no growth, or neg growth) so pressure to increase tax revenue goes away!
I am a Norfolk Resident who enjoys this "park" as it appears on maps for the area. There simply are not enough parks in the greater Tidewater region. This area is unique in its natural splendor and should remain that way.
please stop killing the earth.

Slow development in the shore drive corridor!
Nourishment of the Lynnhaven Alternative to Trucking Dredge Spoils Alternative to Trucking Dredge Spoils Plaudits to Dorinda Ennis, Wendy Vaughn, Grace Moran, the Ocean Park Civic League, the Shore Drive Community Coalition, as well as, boaters, kayakers and those environmentalists who are opposing the construction of a $2.7 million dredge transfer station adjacent to the Lynnhaven Boat Ramp & Beach Facility. And the eventual passage of 9000 dump trucks from that proposed facility to the Whitehurst Disposal Area off Oceana Boulevard. What a waste of valuable resources this Rube Goldberg scheme would be! All that diesel fuel, air pollution, highway traffic congestion and barge traffic. To say nothing of the waste of precious sand and silt. For a simpler, more environmentally sound, less expensive alternative search (US Senator John) Breaux+marsh+restoration+pipeline. By simply doing the planned Western Branch of the Lynnhaven River channel dredging. And then moving the dredge spoils up to carefully selected areas, immediately seaward of nearby bulkheads and eroded shoreline, by pipeline, the problem of dredge spoil disposal is answered. While simultaneously reconstructing much of the marshland lost to erosion and, especially, lost to ill advised dredging and bulk heading. Carried out, in this once pristine estuary, out over the past six decades. But there are certain rules for (Breaux) marshland reconstruction by pipeline. The spoil must be deposited on a 1:6 grade. A certain percentage of the spoil fill must be course sand. In general it is not necessary to plant marsh grass on this spoil. Smooth cord salt marsh grass (spartina alterniflora) will volunteer in less than two years. And once this marshland is (established) reestablished. And then periodically nourished over the following decades, by adding additional silt and sand…why, once this marshland is reestablished and good tidal flows restored, then subsequent channel dredging will be required less frequently. And before the fat cats start whining about such a scheme decreasing their waterfront property values (which it won’t), we should simply remind them of the five toddlers who, over the past six decades, fell off their parents Lynnhaven basin bulkheads at high tide…and drowned. And the dozens of dogs who met the same fate. As well as, all those kids who fell off their water-skis or wakeboards and slammed into someone’s bulkhead. In addition to the loss of all those invertebrates necessary for the health of an estuary. | 949 | This area is already congested. Building this project will further destroy the quality of life of residents in the area. PHP should be used in a way that will benefit all the residents of Virginia Beach
City Council and the Planning Commission must be forced to do their jobs and protect the quality of life of all residents of this city, rather than constantly succumbing to the interests of unscrupulous builders bent on paving every square inch of the city and waterfront. Shore Drive from the area around the Lesner to Great Neck Road is a disgrace.
