Stop building along Shore Drive - our environment can not support Indigo Dunes nor can the patience level of Shore Drive neighbors accept such blind disregard to our wetlands and our community on the part of our ELECTED officials. Represent your constituents not the Sandler's money.
STOP enough is enough! Can't our representatives listen to what the residents of Virginia Beach want instead of their greed? Stop over developing our wetlands and Shore Drive!

the city of virginia beach should find some way of purchasing the entire tract of land as "green space" for public use.
Stop Indigo Dunes...this is a horror for our community.

The infrastructure of this corridor cannot support this many new homes despite that mess the city calls a "Demonstration Project" where they snuck in the expanded sewer lines. City Council must take better steps to manage growth in the city of Virginia Beach, preserving quality of life for current residents over quantity of dollars in developers' bank accounts.
the chesapeake preservation act was created for a reason.....
Shore drive can sustain current traffic until 2020 according to past research. We do not want or need the negative impact of more cars and pollution in our area.
This is terrible... all this work to clean up the Lynnhaven and now this! I'm outraged, but not suprised this proposal was accepted.
Think about our children and grandchildren, not about putting more money in developers' pockets!

I grew up on Crab Creek in the early 80's. I watched as historic Church Point turned from a farm into *'a much needed golf course'. (I say historic because in 1640, long before it was Bayville Farms it was the site of the first Parish in the Princess Anne area, hence the name.) After thirty years of protection from the Army Corp. of Engineers we lost the land along Long Creek because of a City screw up while building the new Great Neck Bridge. Now it is Marina Shores. Every bit of open space from the Bridge Tunnel to Sea Shore has been built on over the past ten years. You can not even tell you are at the Beach anymore. I know you can't stop progress but, we should be able to preserve a little integrity. I am sure many of us can find 101 reasons not to build but the truth is a few have many millions to go ahead. Our City has a long history of selling out. Why should the last bit of land be any different than the first? No one wants a history lesson but we really do need some Hometown Pride. stoopidzen *insert sarcasm here

I have lived in Virginia Beach since 1979. Eventhough I have a home here, I have spent the last 10 years on the West Coast. I do try to travel back as often as possible. Doing such allows me to see time release snap shots of the continued degradation of a city that was once a joy to live in. VaBch elected officials have always been in the pockets of the primary developers and lawyers of the Bourough...but this abomination along Shore Drive must be stopped. Development is not evil, but unbridled development - for pure greed - is a short cut to what I see in places like Hermosa or Manhattan Beach, CA. Please come to your senses folks and at least try to preserve some vestige of what made Virgina Beach the love of my family.
It is already too crowded on Shore Dr. Our wetlands need to be protected.
Destroying those beautiful wetlands which are a treasure for all residents and visitors to Virginia Beach, would be unforgivable. It is the last area that still shows how beautiful our area once was before the saturation of condos that now trashes the Shore Drive area. The congestion will be terrible if Indigo Dunes is allowed, not to mention the pollution it will generate. It should be turned into a nature preserve which will benefit the citizens and their descendants.

I dont think that it is right that someone can buy protected land and that it being protected can try to develop on it. Mr. Sandler has no concern with the enviromental promblems he will be causing but only is worried about further padding his pockets! I have been taking my dog out to the flats for three years now and now with the new "development" by Sandler i was asked to leave by off duty cops that he had hired Save the wetlands dont let sandler build, and give us our bay back!

IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO ALL RESIDENTS OF THE SHORE DRIVE AREA THAT THE CITY APPEAL THE DECISION OF THE VIRGINIA MARINE RESOURCE COMMISSION TO OVERTURN THE VIRGINIA BEACH WETLANDS BOARD'S DECISION TO DENY THE PROPOSED INDIGO DUNES PROJECT AT PLEASURE HOUSE POINT.

If this goes through I would love to see a Super Wall Mart on top of the inshore side of the Lesner Bridge. " Condos coast to coast the Spotted Owls will find some were else to live , just like the indians did ! " unknown Developer

NO INDIGO DUNES
It's time someone took control over the out-of-control that is going on Virginia Beach. Enough ig enough. OK HW

suburban sprawl is not needed in this area. New housing may be money in someone's pocket, but at a greater, more severe cost to whats left of our beautiful coastal wetlands.

My husband and I oppose this project!! Please let this piece of property remain untouched. It's the last peaceful scenery we have left. We have enough homes/condos sitting vacant in this area. Traffic congestion WILL become a problem without a doubt.
