Sally DellWhat a rediculous solution to traffice problems. Perhaps if they sorted out the bus system and had lower prices people would use the buses. No way am I paying £10 for the family to bus into town when I can part for less!!!!
Emily NikolicThere are far more effective ways to reduce congestion: compulsory school buses for one. It is clear what causes the majority of rush hour traffic in Cambridge - when I travel to and from work (on my bike!) during school holidays, there is virtually none. This is particularly evident during private school holidays.
S TaylorMy children go to a all faith school which is not in my catchment area to walk would take an hour as the children are little cycling is out of the question as its far to dangerous.I already have to pay to park why should i pay because i choose a school that reflects the faith i wish to bring my children up in

me@richardmayer.co.ukI live on the new Arbury Park development and drive daily out to Bottisham, hardly contributing to the real Cambridge congestion issues. I find it hardly fair that I will have to pay £100 a month for this. Can the cost not be worked out some other, fair way? Perhaps pro rata of the roads used within the boundaries? I will use approx. 300 yards of road. £5 a day is very steep for this.
John BeasleyThis charge is nothing to do with congestion. It is a cynical method of raising additional tax. I suspect the money has already been spent and The Council would find it difficult to back out.

AnonymousThere would be less congestion on Cambridge roads if there were more options for children to get to school thus reducing traffic at peak times (0800-0900). You only have to drive during holiday periods to notice the difference. Residents like us on low paid salaries cannot afford to pay a congestion charge every day just to get to work to earn an honest days living. And just how much is it going to cost to install the congestion technology and manage the system and we know who will end up paying for that. I feel outraged that a congestion charge for the whole of Cambridge is being considered - what about residents who live on the edge of the city and drive out of the city and therefore nowhere near the ring road or city centre - this is outrageous. Surely Cambs CC you need to think again about this ridiculous proposal for Cambridge drivers and should not be swayed by the finance carrot being proposed by national government to reduce congestion at the expense of local residents.
AnonymousThree members of my family drive OUT of the city every day. We do not expect to have to pay extra for this privilege.
alberto bonamicoAs a family we clock a ridicoulos number of miles as we invested in a house closer to schools and workplace. Rather then charging for access, drivers should be taxed for actual miles. I also dont believe that more tax will pay for better public transport as I have heard this for 10 years and it's only got worse and more expensive.

Victoria HendleyThere are many things that could be done to ease the congestion, not least retiming all the light. And as for charging for the zone around the hospital - it is absolutely crazy.
James MurphyCambridge road pricing has been rejected twice already and road pricing was decisively rejected by the people of Manchester. That we are still having this discussion reflects the arrogance of certain members of the council and local administration. A congestion charge would damage the city and, perhaps more importantly, impinge on the freedom of those who live here.
John WallmanThis ;is a tax on the poor, the rich and business people will just pay it and pass on the cost in their goods and services to the rest of us. It is outrageous.
