Pierre HaneuseIn memory of my friend Shinkishi Tajiri ... a true Yankee Samurai who died in Holland and fought during WWII in Europe to make it possible for our generations to live in peace. I fully support this petition.
JR VidourekThese brave men who served this country during WW11 deserve recognition. Despite our government deny their Civil rights, they chose to prove to be better Americans .Many of their families were still incarcerated behind barbed wire encampments. Would we be so brave & patriotic ttoday?

AnonymousI think the brave actions of these great American solders need to be known by the American people. We can all take pride in what all Americans have done to keep our county free.
Deborah AppletonMy father was in the 442nd and a hero at that!
Davie R ShieldsI was raised in the Hood River Valley community in Oregon and attended school with children of Nisei vets and interns. This stamp will not undo the injustice of the incarceration and confiscation (through "mandated leasing") of Nisei personal property but will be an acknowledgement of gratitude for this dedicated unit of Japanese American servicemen.
Debra OyamadaI believe that the sacrifices of the 442nd should be honored by a stamp. This would help make those who are not aware of the

Bruce D. KjeldsenDuring part of WWII, my Dad, Lt. Donald E. Kjeldsen, was chief of the ROTC program at Yale when he met Toshio Kono (Uncle" Tosh), who was teaching Japanese. Most of Toshios students were ROTC candidates. They became close and lifelong friends and Toshio and his wife Dorothy (Aunt Dot) became my godparents. They too were patriotic Americans.

Joel TaylorIf the Postal Service can honor The Simpsons with stamps, then surely they can honor veterans who served valiantly in a time of segregation and racism.
Lilian InaiThe Nisei were in a unique position during WWII as their families were being treated as enemies yet they were willing to serve their country. As the niece of a veteran who received two purple hearts and a silver star, I urge you to create a stamp in the honor of these veterans. Thank you.

Nancy WhitesideOn behalf of the Placer County Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League, we support the issuance of a Japanese American WWII Veterans Commemorative Stamp. Though a large population of Japanese Americans in Placer County were interned during WWII, many brave and proud men serve in the armed forces. They are remembered each day by their families and loved ones left behind.
Larry H.SakaiI support the effort to have Japanese American WW II veterans honored with a stamp. My uncle was in the 442nd unit and was wounded in Italy. He walked with a limp all his life. Unfortunately, he passed away recently. I would have been nice if he could have lived to see such a stamp honor. As a veteran myself, I strongly support moving forward with this honor.
Patricia Holcombe
Lynne MorishitaI respectfully request that a commemorative postage stamp be issued soon honoring the contributions of the Japanese Americans (Nisei) who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during WWII. Thank you for your consideration.

Sonya KukiThis is a honor well -deserved and should be fully carried out .
Jerry J. SakamotoIt is about time that all Americans become aware of the contributionsof Japanese Americans during World War II.
Kerry Kunitomi CababaMy grandmother had a gold star hanging in her barracks in Heart Mountain, Wyoming, and internment camp. Her 19 year old son, my uncle, Ted Fujioka, was killed in France after volunteering for the 442 in order to ensure a better life for his children and grandchildren in America. He was the first student body president and raised the flag at Heart Mountain High School before volunteering. He and others with similar stories DESERVE a stamp. They paid their dues with their blood and their honor.
