Avoid the Cost vs. Value Eclipse and Achieve New Energy Immortality
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Continuing to Demand the current energy and fuel commodities that we use to provide our Way of Life is threatening our Way of Life. Therefore we need to demand new energy and fuel commodities in order to keep our Way of Life.
We used to live in a country that manufactures products and exported the things we manufactured to the world. We need to become that type of country again and the energy situation provides that opportunity.
As Consumers, we recognize that there are energy and travel services in our lives that we have come to enjoy and expect. We know that we have a standard of living which requires skill to maintain. These commodities and systems have become institutions for us, and we do not want to take the convenience they provide for granted. These conveniences are the end values. We recognize this partial list of end values:
Partial List of End-Values
Conditions are such that some of the problems related to our lifestyle could eclipse the positive value of this lifestyle. This Cost vs. Value Eclipse must be avoided for the sake of future generations. We want to allow our next generations to enjoy at least the same standard of living that we currently enjoy. We are learning that we have some decisions to make to keep our way of life. Ingenuity and determination are how we solve problems, and they are how we attained this way of life. This situation and new energy technologies provide the recipe to rebuild this economy, and solve the energy problem, simultaneously.
Regardless of scientific evidence, it is clear that changes are in order. Whether the issue is purely human effect, part of a larger cycle, shrinking resources or a combination of factors; it is absurd and backwards to argue whether we will impact it with our decisions. Of course we will. We understand how Demand plays a key role in the direction that our energy and travel institutions take.
We see the influx of new industry and new technologies to be the solution, rather than merely an increase in the cost of the current systems.
Therefore, it is not timely to condemn the energy industry and the auto industry, or to point fingers in any way. On the contrary, the energy industry and the auto industry have provided us with good service and end values (see partial list of end-values above). These industries have a level of skill that has been mastered which allows for convenience that has never been seen in history. We want to encourage them to use their skills in new ways, and to display their brilliance. As people strive toward enjoyment, improvement and happiness in general, we all share the desire to provide a better future for coming generations.
This means that if we intend to maintain our way of life and carry it forward to coming generations that there is a position of appreciation and responsibility which needs to be recognized and developed throughout the spectrum of Supply and Demand. It also means that we need to encourage the experts to apply their talents in the development of new energy industries using new technologies.
It should be understood by the service providers that any investments, new systems and economic developments will not be in vain. There is no shortage of opportunity for new investments; the demand for energy is constantly rising. Some of these new technology products are currently available, and they need to be brought into the market more assertively. There is a new generation of innovators who need to be discovered and recognized. We want our grandchildren to live in a world of plentiful energy.
We are excited about the fact that new technologies and systems will help to spur the economy. It is no secret that some of our major industries have been suffering. The process of converting delivery systems will provide many new opportunities. When these delivery systems are in place, they will provide healthy long term growth and stability.
Therefore, governments should strike any laws that restrict the market from providing implementation of clean energy and new technologies (these types of laws are called hotlaws) . This will take the burden off of governments. A lack of engagement by business and consumers in this regard will lead to more laws that restrict our movement and commerce. What we need is less restriction so that new energy sources and the economic development that comes with new technology will follow.
Therefore, We Agree:

| 55 | Lila | Bennett | AR | 72219 | F | There must not be restrictions on our developing new and innovative energy sources, and expanding new and alternative energy sources we already have...It is very important that we must be self sufficient as a country, not depending on energy sources we now MUST access from foreign soils, since these sources are controlled by other domains that are seeking their own monetary increases to be applied to their own purposes that are not necessarily aligned with our own interests, and usually are not for our benefit in any way....This leaves us vulnerable in our seeking energy sources from outside the USA which does not benefit our economy and thus our way of life...This whole concept must be rethought and the thinkers desperately need to restructure the systems supporting our energy needs to allow much more freedom to seek and develop alternative energy sources that will enable us to efficiently manage our country's supply and demand in the way best to encourage our evolution as leaders on the world scene which can eventually evolve our whole energy sources to stop robbing the pocket books of our world citizens and stop the growing pollution of our beautiful planet Earth. Thank you for your consideration... |

| 59 | Shody | Ryon | OR | 97203 | M | (construction) If the gas tax goes to road maintenance exclusively, my BS monitor's preliminary alarm is sounding. I would say there is quite a lot of money collected from gas tax and the roads do not seem all that great, at least they do not match the sum of money my minds eye sees. If it is not exclusively for roads, I don't know what it is being spent on. I don't see alt forms of energy or anything else of great importance that would justify that sum of money paid by tax payers. I would like to remind everyone there is a difference between WVO and BD. This is another reason using WVO could be better than purchasing BD. If wallmart is selling BD for 20 cents cheaper than I can make it myself, I think it is my obligation to find out how they do it. I suppose it would be nice if the news reported the news, but we can't have everything, can we? The government has deregulated the media until we have lost it. If wallmart does it by having our tax dollars pay for their employee's health care and by purchasing coconut oil from thieves that have perhaps murdered people to get the oil, we should inform each other as we are doing here. If there is no law that prohibits selling goods obtained through murder and/or steeling, perhaps we should start the process of having such laws enacted. If these laws exist, perhaps we could ask our government representatives to enforce them. If they will not enforce the law, perhaps we should start a recall or impeachment of them. This goes for any product sold, including ff. The impeachment might include the government official's failure to develop alternatives to ff, such as decentralized PV. Why does the US government's action regarding ff resemble the thieves and murdering paramilitary groups of Columbia? It would appear to the un-reeducated there is little moral difference, making WVO the most PC of the three fuels. I have just been told what we need to do to motivate our government officials to do their job is called a wtit of mandamus: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Writ_of_mandamus |

| 94 | Anonymous | Anonymous | NY | 14609 | M | There are so many potential sources of energy. Why have we not developed nuclear fusion?? What is wrong with using high-level radioactive waste from nuclear fission to extract more energy from the still hot materials? What ever happened to developing solar and wind power? Couldn't we usurp storms, earthquakes, and other disasters for energy? I wonder how many homes could have been lit with the free energy Katrina was nice enough to give us, had we developed the technology to harness it instead of specious "for the higher cause" laws to keep us in the box? How many homes could have been energized with the energy of the 2004 Tsunami? No, this isn't new. I can understand a sudden crisis. But we have been warned since 1973 that this was going to happen. There was some movement in the right direction then, but laws and specious protectionism limited the efficiency of the programs. And, as soon as we got the glut of oil on the market in 1986, we went right back to wasteful oil consumption and off the track of producing limitless energy. I, for one, will NOT support candidates that continue harming our future by passing specious laws, or keeping the ones already passed, that merely keep the status quo intact while the problems of global warming and depletion remain. To any government officials reading this: You have had since the oil embargo of 1973 to get things rolling, and all you have done was come up with specious arguments to keep status quo. This is not a sudden crisis like 1973 was. This has been more than 30 years past that. Let's put it in second gear and get those alternative energy sources going! Thirty years is enough time to have safe nuclear fission and to reuse the hot wastes until the energy is gone. Thirty years is enough to develop nuclear fusion. Thirty years is enough to improve solar, wind, and geothermal energy sources. Thirty years is enough to find a way to at least partially harness hurricanes and earthquakes for energy. But all you do is waste the time going around in circles. I will not fall for that "We're working on it" scam. You have been "working on it" since 1973. Let's put it in second gear and stop goofing off running around in circles with these specious "We're working on it" excuses. If not, then we are going to run out of usable energy before anything else is available. And it will be whoever's fault that keeps those excuses going. Are we still going to be "working on it" when that happens? |
