| 3405 | Louise Hunter | I fully support all items above. |
| 3406 | Martin Tregoning | All too often, especially in Auckland, cyclists are not given enough room when on the road. Cars DONT look out for them and the number of accidents , whether serious or not, is on the rise. Having been a victim myself, I know first how it can affect your mind set when trying to get back on the bike.
Other parts of the country, Christchurch for example, have a wide road policy where a cyclist can feel relatively safe whist out there amongst the traffic. Its about time that Auckland cyclists took back the roads. |
| 3407 | Jill Summer | Please do this. I t will cover healt, environment and conservation problems as well ans letting us ride a bike in safety.
I am a NZ rep in triathlon 63 years young and love it. the drivers are getting less considerate and i would love to collect my pension!
Give us a hand Annette! Please. Best wishes, Jill |

| 3417 | Tim Chapman | I live in Hamilton, and although the council has many many roads which are wide enough for cyclists, I have had a number of close calls with cars who cut corners and make use of the cyclist lane. I think it is about time we make sure that drivers are aware about the need for the safety of those who choose to ride bikes around. |

| 3419 | Vicki Shakespeare | Any intiative to improve the safety and ease of commuter and recreational cycling, and educating other road users is of the upmost importance. |

| 3425 | Trevor Crawford | -Cycling doesn't use oil
-ACC has an interest in Cyclist safety
-Ministry of Health has an interest in health benefits of cycling
Why wouldn't funding increase? |
| 3426 | Ed Austin | |
| 3427 | Ros Goulding | Link up Walking cycle ways so they are user friendly and then cyclists have an off road route to use which is better for all.
Wellington and Auckland could easily have walking and cycle links between existing parks and green space.
Central government needs to encourage local councils or Transit to maintain walkways and cycleways off main high ways between small settlements. Eg lake Hawea to Wanaka or Arrowtown to Queenstown. Riding on a road where the speed limit is 100Km is no fun. |

| 3432 | Nick | Cycling not only needs to become a lot safer but people need to feel safe. I'd like to see families out on a ride together but that is not something I see when I'm out and about.. When more people are cycling there are benefits for everyone - health & fitness, lower traffic, less carbon emissions, etc. |
