Joanne RizziPlease divert the funds that will be used on unnecessary prison projects and a new police academy in Queens to build the necessary schools that will enrich our future generations and not incarcerate them.

Jayne MurphyThis is so upsetting! My daughter is entering Stuyvesant this fall and if it had already been capped at 700, and that was 110%, how did they now accept 800?? This is deeply disturbing and I believe many families will leave the city.

AnonymousClass size reduction is the ONLY PROVEN METHOD to improve academic performance. All else is equivocal.
AnonymousAny school environment or educational experience will be degraded by overcrowded classroom.

AnonymousMy school is over-crowded. We have students wait periods in the library because all classes are full.
Karin GarfinDear Mayor Mike, We re-elected you knowing you are capable of fixing this problem. Our schools need your focus and attention. Smaller class size and improved schools need to be your biggest priority!
Sara E. PyleClass size should not increase in direct proportion to the cognitive and intellectual difficulty of the curriculum, yet this is current DOE policy. In particular, middle schools need small class sizes that permit individualized attention, so that students will have the solid educational grounding essential for success in high school and beyond. Impersonal and depersonalized education in the middle grades is one of the causes of lowering achievement, particularly among economically disadvantaged children who are most damaged by current class size policies.
Daniel L MeloreMy children are 17 now and have received an excellent education at PS 213, MS 74 and Bronx Science. However, when I read about other schools I am dismayed at the problem of overcrowding.
