Citizens Opposed to Rushed New Commissioner Districts & District Voting

The petition

We, the concerned citizens of Chatham County, oppose the proposed redistricting plan based on out-dated data. We also oppose placing on the ballot in November a referendum to change our method of electing county commissioners from the current countywide majority rule voting to a district voting scheme that will further divide the county, disenfranchise African-American voters and encourage corrupt, pork-barrel politics.
