NKU Students Against Chalking on Campus

The petition

The current chalking policy for Northern Kentucky University allows for student organizations to advertise events on campus but, while several student organizations have used this policy effectively within the rules and guidelines of the policy, many others have abused this right by displaying opinions.

The unprofessional look of chalk on campus is distasteful as well as unattractive to those who attend the university and those who come as guests. Many students and visitors feel that the chalk resembles 'graffiti' and want an environment on campus that is less offensive.

We strongly support the removal of the current chalking policy and firmly stand against any policy which allows chalking on campus.
