What do you want? Change the tax code? Eliminate the tax code. Go to a flat tax? Ever wanted to scream at Congress or the President that things need changed? Think Veterans get a crappy deal? Enviromental laws need changed?
We as The People can change our country, must change our country. When all is said and done, it will be the will of The People that decides and not some bumbling, thieving, cheating group of career politicians.
Years ago our Government was formed by Founding Members who had to travel by horse – carriage to enact Legislation for the people that voted for them. This was the only way each voter could be represented / counted. Having Representatives was the only way Democracy could work.
Today, our politicians are still living in that century. Mr. Smith goes to Washington to do what politicians do best: confuse, boggle, lie, steal and cheat. They have to “play the game” to get others to vote for their Legislation, many times making a trade-off to vote for things The People don’t want.
Present Communications Technology makes National, State and Local Representatives obsolete. The People will eventually be able to replace Congress. Why not now?
Who Will Resist?
Politicians at all levels, beaureaucrats, lawyers, judges, and anyone making a living off of the current system will resist what I hope will become a tidal wave of voters wanting to reclaim their Government.
The SYSTEM is broken. It needs fixed. Here’s what I propose:
A write in Ballot Campaign to elect me.
Establish a secure electronic voting system with access from the Internet as well as proprietary voting terminals to be located at Libraries and License Offices. Interested citizens will vote on legislation within 90 days of legislation reaching the President's desk.
Eventually eliminate Congress through Constitutional Amendments and return Representation back to the states. This will eliminate power brokering of our Democracy. Corporations and lobbyists will no longer affect the will of The People.
My Contract:
I will return control of our Government back to The People. All Legislation offered up by Congress to be signed by the President shall be voted on by The People. Any Legislation favored by The People and struck down by the Supreme Court will automatically initiate an Amendment Vote wherein The People shall vote to place an Amendment regarding said Legislation on State Ballots.
The President will remain a figure-head in our Government. The President will keep or delegate all existing Presidential duties except the power to veto or sign Legislation not approved by Popular Vote. The Popular Vote must be greater than 50% of votes counted.
In regards to Legislation, The People will vote “veto” or “sign”.
No Executive Orders will be issued without a Popular Vote. No pardons given without a Popular Vote.
WAR
This President shall direct no troops to engage in combat, or utilize existing overseas Armed Forces for combat without a Popular Vote, nor shall the President cause harm or order harm to be caused to foreign nationals, with the exception of defending The United States against direct invasion. America’s enemies will no longer deal with a single person, but with all Americans.
This is my Pledge and solemn promise. If I violate this Contract, a request for Impeachment shall be issued by the Justice Dept to Congress if I do not voluntarily resign.
This is also a call to vote. If you don't want to write me in, and don't like either candidate, write in Elvis Presley to let THEM know you're not happy with their system. You do have a choice. Use it. |
