| 54 | Anonymous | Anonymous | | CA | Why should a vehicle be allowed on the road that makes it painful to be within 200 yards of it? If I make it through one weekend without some loud exhaust biker harley waking me up at 3am I'll be amazed. Safety? yeah, who else is on the road at 3am? |
| 55 | M | Kruszewski | | CA | Straight pipes on motorcycles should be banned. |

| 57 | Peter | Harborow | | CA | the amount of motercycle noise is totally unacceptable and these modified harleys need to be taken off the road. We live in a community and it is unacceptable for bikers to noise pollute degrade our environment. |

| 61 | Joey | Calara | | CA | First Step is to make motorcyclists realize that they look absolutely rediculous in their trendy im so rebelious looks and wannabe television lookalike bikes. Only after the goofy trend of im a biker im so cool is gone, will we see a decline in the I need your attention motorcycle community.
To these riders I say you may think your all that when you scream by, but if you were to look back you would only see us laughing at you shaking our heads and saying what an idiot. |
| 62 | Willy | McSeveney | | CA | Please get the noisy vehicles off the road. Why is it illegal in countries like South Africa to operate a vehicle with a noise reading above 86db while people are driving around in Canada without any mufflers to the dismay of absolutely everyone except the driver. If a vehicle exceeds the noise reading in South Africa, the car is taken of the road and has to go for a complete roadworthy test to be allowed back on the road again.
Almost all the noisy vehicles are involved in street racing and are owned by new drivers.
It might be a good idea to get the automotive exhaust shops to only conduct work in accordance with the noise bylaws. |

| 68 | Anonymous | Anonymous | | CA | Hearing your engine is a large part of motorcycling. Naturally, people can and do become disturbed by loud pipes. Ninety-nine percent of these disturbances are caused by idiots blasting around downtown at 9k rpm at 3 a.m. These people deserve to be ticketed for there blatant disrespect for individuals who live in the downtown core. However, as a motorcyclist myself, I can say with confidence that loud pipes do add to the safety of motorcycling. In my opinion, anything that can saves lives is of great importance. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. As for people who disagree with me, I challenge you to try and ride a bike in the lower mainland and see how your safety is completely compromised with quiet pipes. Conversely, if a driver can not see you, then being heard is the next best option. Remember people that what is a “fender bender” in a car could very well spell the end for a rider. I think that a respectable compromise should be a curfew on loud pipes. Just a suggestion. Regards,
~John Smith |

| 74 | Anonymous | Anonymous | | CA | I happen to live near a popular motorcycle bar in downtown. Every time one leaves the bar, they "throttle" it excessively and intentionally making a lot of senseless noise. |
| 75 | Edward | Slingerland | | CA | This is a major quality of life issue that appears to be inexplicably ignored by the authorities. |
| 76 | Zac | Helmberger | | CA | In the USA, The EPA created a very simple system called the matching label system. If the EPA label on the muffler does not match the EPA noise label on the motorcycle, it is illegal. End of story.
Incredibly easy to enforce. I'm sure all USA motorcycles imported to Canada have legal exhaust system on them. So it should be easy to adopt the US EPA matching label system in Canada. |
| 77 | Nathan | Janz | | CA | (Why is there only a state option -- is this not a petition for BC, Canada?)
I also think that a petition should be started to have Translink install better mufflers on their diesel buses -- they are almost as bad as some motorbikes. |
| 78 | Anonymous | Anonymous | | CA | It is absolutely ridiculous that the modification of motorcycles and the removal of restrictive exhausts is alllowed. All bikes with illegal pipes should be impounded and the owner be fined a heft $500+ fine. I remember when the police drove Harleys and these bikes still had a deep exhaust not to them but certainly somewhat appealling. Now please excuse me while I go remove the muffler from my lawnmower and then turn up my sterio loud enough so i can still hear it whilst cutting my lawn. |

| 80 | Anonymous | Anonymous | | CA | Goddamn motorcycles drive down my street at 3 AM sounding like a tank driving over a bunch of jackhammers. They have absolutely no sense of common courtesy. They KNOW how loud they are because they wear earplugs. Offenders should be arrested and have their vehicle impounded. |
