AlecMarutThe other day a motorcyclist drove by and was so loud it actually hurt my ears-- and I'm used to loud environments. I think it's getting a bit out of control.

Ian SmithI think there IS legsilation which concerns this problem. Just that, like so many other stuff, it's not enforced well enough.

SunnyShaoCAIf there are regulations against car noises then the same should go for motorcycles. Loud motorcycles are even more obnoxious than most cars, and when thundering down a street, the noise tends to set off many car alarms which leads to further noise pollution. I really hope that something can be done about this.

you've got too muchtime on your handsthe dumbest petition I've ever seen
matthew asplinCAI generally approve of motorcycles, but the extreme noise created by some of these two-wheeled horses really pisses me off. Is it necessary to rev your 120db ear-buster outside my place at 2:00am???

JasonVanCAThe city is way to loud,, cars, people screaming their heads off all night and nothing done about it.
AnatoliDygalCAAnything other then a regular exaust for a motor bike or car should be illigal. People get loud exhausts and put them on crap bikes and honda civics so they can get some attention. How stupid can they get? Does a Porshe 911 sound like a tractor? Of course not, we just hear the engine on real fast cars, not the stupid exhaust!!!

BevScottCAThe excessive (I do not mean just loud) noise is also dangerous when it causes other drivers to react to upset kids.

EarlWarnerCAHurrah! Great move!
WayneWordenCAAltering motocycle exhausts or building motorcycles with the intention of creating loud exhaust noise is juvenille. The purpose seems to be to entertain the rider at the expense of everyone within hearing distance. In some cases hearing distance can be many city blocks. The quietest mc exhaust possible should be mandated by law.

LindaParkerCAI have no objection to motorcycles as a form of transportation. It's the soul-jarring noise of the modified exhaust systems that is unacceptable.

AnonymousAnonymousCAUSGreetings: I helm my own unofficial organization called Belligerently Anti Noise And Light (BANAL) dedicated to reversing the rise of belligerent noise and light pollution generated principally by belligerent motorcyclist and offensively bright headlights on late model cars, trucks and SUVs. Noise from all sources is probably already regulated in your jurisdiction. The issue is always "enforcement" and "money" for enforcement must be skillfully lobbied for in any petition to state federal or local government and politic ans. Unless you specify in your petition both the means and money FOR enforcement, you are doing nothing but letting the people responsible for enforcement off the hook. Belligerent motorcycle noise and offensive headlights persist because the manufacturers that make them enable muffler retrofitting. And oddly enough, the police are often sympathetic motorcyclists themselves and are therefore silent conspirators who not only tolerate but promote this antisocial behavior. Fighting this problem also requires technological surveillance trailers that can easily and cheaply capture photos of offenders and their license plates. I am trying to assemble sponsors, funding and contributions (with auditing) to produce a confrontational documentary illustrating all sides of this issue for use by commercial and public broadcasting. Feel free to call me. Good luck.
AnonymousAnonymousWIUSI agree, there should be some type of regulation and enforcement of loud motorcycles and exhaust systems as well as loud car stereos. Please do what you can to move this legislation along. Thank you
