From what I understand, the statistics show that nurses, then teachers, and finally doctors have the highest incidence in whatever Morgellons is. All of these people work with a great number of the public, and if Morgellons turns out to be a contagious pathogen, just imagine what will happen.
And if it is not contagious, the thousands of sufferers should have the respect of our government sevices to at the very least investigate the situation. This response, I truly do not understand.
We need to have an investigation as to why the CDC, the FDA, and the EPA have turned a 'deaf ear' to the pleadings for help by the American public.
DOP, by the AMA's own definition, should only be applicable as a diagnosis when "all other possible causes are eliminated', which is NOT what is happening to Morgellons sufferers.
Doctors just don't know, it appears, and with only 10 minutes on average to see each patient, they do not have the time, nor the resources to address unknown pathogens. That is the job of the CDC, who does not appear to being their job in a timely and professional manner.
I urge you again to take this situation seriously.

These people really are terribly ill - It may not be from what they feel is morgellon's ,persay - but the aforementioned afflictions could help solve the puzzle and comfort many for very little money. It's research that needs to be done - These people are suffering with their entire families in droves and there is no answer - perhaps the answer is very simple, but it needs to be addressed and solved and managed to give them even an inkling of the quality of life that taxpayers deserve in the land of the free. These people are broken and alone and afraid. Do them the courtesy of helping them to find solutions, please. There are so many, and it could just be that they have serious food sensitivites - or toxicities from things like ADD medication (pure benzene) - They can all be comforted , they can all be saved, but if nothing is done, it is a terrible shame - because they are spending every last of their dimes, children won't go to school, people's lives are completely destroyes because they feel that they are being attacked by a monster without a real name.Please solve it and explain that it is not a monster that they are being attacked by, name their syndrome something less frightening - and help them. they are all intelligent, good hearted people, who are really quite desperate. They are good citizens and deserve to have proper medical attention paid to them and studies conducted.

i know it may be easier to write us off as wackos because you have been taught to treat the "most likely" disease first. If you apply that logic to Morgellons, you will be treating people with antibiotics for months on end while breaking down our immune systems and seeing no results. Then it may be too late. I would rather be dead than suffer with this disease. If I don't receive help soon, I too will commit suicide and maybe someone will build a Morgellons memorial with my name on it, for all the people that were lost to suicide will you postponed research. disease is until you get it. But when I presented with sores all over my torso, caked up blood, ooze and stuff running down my face, and the strange white fibers appearing virtually anywhere they could, I did not see how anybody could call it my imagination, but they did. But now, the white things were seen during colonoscopy Entire pretty pink colon with little white things firmly attached. Did not even move when doc moved camera around. Numerous biopsies wre taken. Result? Unidentifable, probably harmless. Trully, my entire body must be full of unidentifiable fibers that come out whenever "they" want to make an appearance. This disease state needs to be investigated. There are too many sufferers for it to be just in everybodies' imagination. And it is miserable. I contrated the disease in the beach of Los Angeles County, in a local park ( as far as I can seemto trace the beginning symptoms). My friends had/have seen me suffer with every and all the symptoms that I have ever seen or rea about. But even with samples I was considered to be a "nut case" by dermatologists, general practioners and even UCLA doctors and students. The humiliation overcame any reason to try to find ANYONE who might look at me as the SICK person I was/am. TO this day I still suffer from Morgellon's, though the outbreaks are not as often, sometimes they are more painful. Today, March 25, 2008 both my right and left arm have very large bruises on them. The left side bruise is in the area where a few days ago there were a few red dots. The right arm bruise is on the inside of the lower part of the arm. Two days ago I began to feel like I was coming down with the flu - but since the bruises have appeared I know that it is just a sign that the Morgellon's is acting up again. I am a single mother who has raised 5 children - all college graduates. I, myself, have a Master's ADegree from Loyola Marymount University in Literacy and Language Arts. I only mention this so as to let you know that I am not the type of person who sits around dreaming up symptoms to get sympathy from people nor am I the type of person who LIKES to frequent the doctor's office. What I am is a person who feels that SOMETHING needs to be done about Morgellon's disease. If it is transferrable in any way - I am a teacher and have literally come into contact with WELL OVER a thousand people since my contracting this disease! |
