George | Shaffer | VA | US |
| 109 | Sonja | Crisp | OH | US | I met Art Monk in 1995 at his Football Camp in Bridgewater, Virginia. He promised me some autographed things for writting a poem for him about kids. His staff never fullfilled his promise "unknown".
But I see that he is still out their making a diference in a childs life even though he is retired. And this is why I say these words to you.
This man has given all on the field no matter how big or how small the football player is. He is very professional on the field and off the field. And he deserves to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame. |
matt | Terl | VA | US |
Jeff | Shankle | | |
Marty | Harrell | VA | US | Statistics alone should put Art Monk in the Hall of Fame!
Emmet | Carney | | | At the time, he was number 1 in all categories. This has to qualify him.
| 114 | Kevin | Johnson | NY | US | ART MONK SHOULD BE I THE HALL OF FAME!!!!
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS |
Colin | Duffy | DC | US |
Rob | Hadaway | VA | US |
Marques | Wilson | | US | The man has 3 superbowl rings which is 3 more than Lofton. He is essentally the catylist for the redskins of the 80s and early 90s.
| 118 | leith | starr | NC | US | I saw Art Monk play his first game at RFK stadium. I wept when he was traded. I boycotted football for that entire season. The
"Great One-The Eight One" ahhhh yes. And although Art certainly deserves HOF induction, for true fans of the game, they all know the name, with or without entry into the hall of fame. Mr. Monk's reward and recognition of excellence reach far beyond any four walls of any building in Canton. |
John | Lineberger | NC | US |
jack | barkley | FL | US | just another way the league screws with us....YOU EVIL RETARDED BASTARDS!!!!!!
Aaron | Bee | | |
Jeff | Walters | | US | Monk should've been the Hall of Fame years ago. He's one of the best players in the NFL ever, both on an off the field. If a showboat like Michael Irvin gets inducted over Monk than the meaning of being a HOF Inductee will go down the tube.
Nolan | Moyer | NM | US |
Kevin | Mendez | | |
Brian | Schroeder | VA | US | Do the RIGHT thing!!!!
Joe | Crisp | | | Art Monk is one of the greatest football players-- let alone wide receivers-- to ever play in the NFL. He redefined the modern prototype of the "possession receiver", set multiple league records for his position, and was a shining example of true professionalism, grace and humility. His induction into the Hall of Fame is long overdue.
Jesse | Therwanger | MD | US | If Art Monk is not in the Hall of Fame I will never visit it again!!!
Ankit | Bhalla | | | Why it is injust not to put him in
Kristy | Farley | | | As a young child I used to watch Art Monk play with heart and passion that you just don't see in today's athletes. He was a fantastic receiver and an even better human being. Art Monk deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
Dylan | Ahn | | |
Benjamin | Kreider | | |
Gareth | Corser | | UK |
Craig | Sharum | | US | Art Monk is to 80's Redskin football what Cal Ripken Jr. was to 80's Orioles baseball - class.
Mike | Summo | | US |
Ronald | Guy | | | shocking that a man w/michael irvin's checkered past is nearly inducted in his first year of eligibility, yet art monk, perhaps the classiest player in nfl history continues to be ignore. it is a travesty and sends the wrong message. how hypocritical the media appears when it criticizes joe "cell phone" horn or randy moss or terrell ownes for their antics. yet these are types of players who stand to (dis)grace canton's halls while someone of esteemed character (art monk) is denied induction. the next time peter king sees some high school player indulging in shameless self promotion, i hope he and ever other media type like him are proud of the monster they helped create and promote.
Richard | Sullivan | MD | US | A man who cared about football his team & fans not about hype or himself he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame
Stephen | Harrison | VA | US | It is a crime that Art Monk is not in the Hall of Fame.
Brad | Galofaro | | |
Betty | Pendarvis | VA | US | I am signing this petition - let Art Monk in - thanks alot!
Carlyle | Brewington | MD | | I believe that Art was an exceptional player and right now today he is a pillar of the community.
Barbara | Darraugh | MD | US | I simply don't understand why he isn't there yet!
John | Rector | | | Art Monk's induction into the NFL Hall of Fame should be an absolute 'no brainer'. Skill, talent, class, and a wide receiver with great blocking skills.
Wes | Johnson | | US | THIS IS LOOOOOONG OVERDUE!
Jay | Rosenberg | | US | It is nuts that Mr. Monk is not already in the hall
James | Patterson | | | For a time he was the all-time catches leader. That alone should get him in.
Brion | Lescault | VA | US | This needs to happen because it's both ridiculous and sad that Monk still hasn't been elected in the HOF.
Bryce | Hancock | | | Long overdue. Why does someone have to be flashy to be considered great? Still my favorite player of all time.
Bryan | Clonts | UT | US | Art Monk should be there way before James Lofton.
don | bloomquist | | | If you hold a relevant all-time record for any period of time (like receptions), you deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.
John | Hobson | CA | US | We should not have to do this. Art Monk should be in the H.O.F already!
