The Grant School Community Foundation is hosting the 2nd Annual Mission Hills 5K on Saturday, March 18, 2017. We are circulating this petition to Mission Hills residents in hopes of obtaining a Parks and Recreation permit to hold the Post Race Party at Pioneer Park from 7am-11am.

The first Mission Hills 5K was a huge success last March for the Mission Hills Community. There were over 600 registrants; the vast majority from zip code 92103. This event drew familes from not only Grant K-8, but also from Francis Parker, St. Vincent's, Madeleine, Point Loma High School and many others. The Mission Hills 5K raised over $15,000 for Grant K-8's science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) programs.

In 2016, the Mission Hills 5K utilized Grant K8's blacktop area - adjacent to the park. However, with the current construction project at Grant K8, space cannot be guaranteed next Spring.

We would love the Mission Hills residents support for the use of Pioneer Park for this fun, community event. The festivities will include local business vendor booths, live music, and snacks to be served to runners.

Set up for the festivities would begin at 6am and clean up would begin at 11am- finishing no later than 12:30pm. Live music would begin at 7:45am and continue intermittently until 11am.
