| 954 | Garland | Bright | AR | US | I pay taxes in Arkansas, why can I not enjoy the Parks by using my metal detector? |
| 955 | BOB | LAIR | IL | US | I THINK METAL DETECTING SHPULD BE ALOUD AS LONG AS WE DONT DAMAGE THE GROUNDS |
| 956 | David | Bean | AR | US | I think that if you are courteous and leave the dig the same as you found it you should be allowed to metal detect. Think of all the history that is lost every day as new roads, parking lots, and buildings are being built. A park today may not be in years to come. I have researched the area in which I live and have found information on a Civil war site in my area which is now under pavement and businesses. History lost. |

| 959 | James | McWilliams | AR | US | I have never picked up a metal detector but I do know that the worst that can happen when someone is detecting is a hole in the ground. Fishing line in state parks do more damage. If you want a law make a law that makes metal detectors fill their holes. But they should be allowed to participate in state parks with their hobbies along with everyone else. |
| 960 | eddie | herrington | LA | US | Dear Sirs:
Please consider revamping the laws on
metaldectecting We should be able to use public lands the same as everone else!
Thanks! |
| 961 | Bret | Henning | CO | US | Yes, is'nt that something. I and my wife went there over the 4th of July. Payed 72.00 to camp there. Were not allowed to metal detect, sluice for gold, and not even pick up wood for a fire. I started to wonder what country I was in. Tell them this, I will never use there area again. |

| 969 | Leonard | Green | AR | US | The Parks are there for the people. To be enjoyed by ALL the people.metal detecting would not be detrimental to the operation or enjoyment of the parks.to not allow metal detecting in state parks is just to serve a few special interets groups which is terribly wrong for the majority of the people. |
| 970 | Jonathan | Finch | AR | US | I would like to hear about the current status of this petition and any news on this subject. I am in the central part of arkansas near little Rock. Thanks for any and all information. Jon |
| 971 | Marvin | Bour | AR | US | From Norman Ar, and really enjoy the treasure hunting. Its ashame that people have nothing else better to do than make directives that affects good people. Who knows next will be fishing! These are people who have no life and are trying to keep there jobs by making stupid laws. Enough said. These people will be remembered on voting day!!! |

| 979 | eddie | carter | AR | US | the state parks belong to all taxpayers. all taxpayers should be entitled to use them.metal detectorists are taxpayers too. |
| 980 | chuck | graves jr | OH | US | i dont know why detectorists are banned from some areas? charge a fee or make us buy a license but let us hunt. there are hunters, fisherman, and general public users of state parks and lands who are not banned but metal detector users are? i would gladly pay a fee just like i do for hunting and fishing. |

| 1000 | Michael | Marks | AR | US | Most metal detecting hobbyists are far more careful with park properties than campers, picnickers or other users. This law is unfairly restrictive. |
