TheresaO'KeefeTXUSmetal detecting is one of the most enjoyable things in life. As long as the surroundings is left in a natural state metal detecting should be allowed.
RichardGarzaARUS
DAVEARNOLDSCUSI DON'T THINK ANY STATE PARK SHOULD BE BANNED FROM DETECTORIST BECAUSE IT IS OUR TAX MONEY TOO THAT KEEPS THEM GOING..
MichaelBradyARUS
markkargerTXIf I can persue my hobby I would spend more time/money in your state

JeffBaileyARUSMetal detecting and recreational mining should be allowed in state parks so long as it doesnt disturb campers and fisherman. This form of recreation does not hurt any thing or anybody. I understand that some rules would have to be imposed to insure the privacy of people using the parks facilities and to maintain the scenic beauty of the parks. This can be done in the very same manner in which the BLM does it in the western United States.

Gregory WhiteARUSThese parks belong to us, we should be able to hunt responsibly.
vance newsomeit would be nice if they would open our lands up for the hobbyists too

garlandbrananARUSwe should be allowed to use metal detectors in state parks if we are responible, and leave the area as if we hadn't been there.

Jason HouleMAUSYou should not be able to ban or limit metal detecting on public property. The people pay for this and we should be able to use it. Some may not agree to the hobbie, but they should not have to power to stop it.
JackGrattsTXUS
James M.SmithARUSPlease give serious consideration to the issue of prospecting in state parks. Work with us !!!!!!!

JoeMurrayARUSIf no solution can be reached, why not try using a pemit fee for metal detecting on state lands. This should be a way to control things.
JerryHillCAUSThis is not the way to go. Metal detecting doesnot hurt anyone, if the searcher follows simple rules that everyone does now days. I feel that the state parks should free for metal detecting with the common sense rules of metal detecting. thank you jerry hill

HelenWilliamsARUSI really like to go to the state parks here in arkansas, but this is a unnessary restriction put unpon the people who love the outdoors.

Samuel A.IsaacARUSI agree we should protect our State Parks at any cost. But I dont see why metal detecting should be off limits. But I can see the reason for fear if youve never seen someone metal detect. yes we dig a small hole, and yes 99% of all metal detector hobbiest cover their holes and leave the ground the same as before... PLEASE FIND SOMEONE TO GO METAL HUNTING WITH, AND I BET YOU WILL AGREE WE ARE NOT A HARM TO THE STATE PARKS, BUT WHEN YOU GET HOOKED ON THE HOBBY, YOU WERE WARNED... THEN YOU CAN JOIN US AND TEACH THE PUBLIC WHAT WE ARE ABOUT AND STOP THE FEAR OF OUR HOBBY... :-)
HOWARDHARTWICKARUS
NORMANTOWLERARUSWE DESRVE THE SAME RIGHTS AS HUNTERS-AND ARCHEOLOGIST-WE DON'T DESTORY-WE SEARCH FOR THE FACTS
MrFridayGAUSPlease allow coin hunting in parks. We also help clean up the trash from local littering.
EdwinDuffWVUSalthough not citizen of AR. I am againist the prohibbiting metal detecting. There many more than 1,000,000 detectorist that will be avoiding your state in buying and vacationing that adds up to many millions.
DavidBeanARUSI believe that treasure hunting should be allowed and even encouraged. Some finds have historical value and with the way cities and towns aquire more and more land and build on it, that history is lost. Why not use a hobby as a resouce.

JamesFiteGAUSPublic lands should be protected FOR the people, not FROM the people!
phillipguessARUS
MikeBunchTXUS99% of us using metal detectors follow very reasonable code of ethics. We leave sites as we found them, if not better.
