The petition
They feel they have grounds for an appeal. We strongly disagree. Mary Ann’s family are extremely frustrated that these men are even being considered for an appeal. Three out of the four men appealing didn’t bother getting on the stand at the trial and tell their side of the story. Even though they were cautioned by their legal representatives of the possible verdict the jury could reach from them not giving evidence. WHY? Because they were scared, or afraid they would be caught out. Instead they sat in silence, listening to all the evidence set out before them, yet they made the choice to say nothing. They had their chances to talk, to give their evidence, to put their side of the story to the court, but refused. Now the family have to go through the nightmare of yet another Court Case. So the family of Mary Ann Leneghan are setting up a petition, which will be sent to the Court of Appeal asking that the Killers sentences remain the same or are increased and NOT reduced. We know we can’t STOP the appeal but those who agree with this petition, PLEASE sign it so we can make our own appeal to the judge
