| 153 | Angela | I support this 100% having lost my beloved cat, "Princess"
My family got her when I was not even a year old and I am now 19. We knew she was getting old and we thought that's why she was getting so ill, turns out we were mistaken. She got very sick very fast and now we know why --- she was poisoned. It hurts to think that it could have been prevented if we only knew! |
| 154 | Deb Boyer | All I can say is that I am totally pissed! I have purchased Iams for my pets for years.. my beautiful Pug Diva is sick the vet does not think from the food but has not idea why! I say these people are just now recalling but are including food from December this is total bull. |

| 156 | Lisa Vollmer | Our cat was eating special kitty and had gotten so sick within 3 days he hardly moved, would not eat and was not talking. On the 4th day we took him to the vet and was told that the best thing was to put him down. On the advice of the vet, we did... we just couldn't see him suffer! |
| 157 | Cindy & James Schultze | I lost my baby boy Bentley (5 year old Maltese) on December 18, 2006 and my baby Bambi (10 year old Pom) is in kidney failure now and is not expected to make it and my puppy Beau (1 year old Pom) is sick but we expect him to make it. He is still young. My heart is truly broken. God Bless those who have suffered the loss and my prayers to those whose "children" are sick. |
| 158 | Jenna Coker | My dog died on Jan. 10th in her sleep from "unknown causes". She had her teeth pulled, we switched her to wet food and then a week or so later she was dead. |
| 159 | Beth Scalzitti | The pet food manufacturers should be held accountable for causing illness and death in pets. It sickens me to think of the pain and suffering these poor animals have gone through and I truly believe that the companies responsible should be punished. |

| 164 | Anonymous | Why in the world do pet food makers import anything from china.I just wonder how much food we humans eat that comes from China? I am against buying any thing from china. I know what they did to their own people many years ago. Read about chinas history. I wouldn't spend one cent on china made goods. Read how many chinnies reaturants get closed down for being unclean and use spoiled food. Check it out, just in the state of ohio. That will shock you. I will cook my own rice and so should you. They use MSG in about all their food. MSG is very bad for your heart. |
| 165 | Anonymous | Our 9 yr old shihzu-poo Brandy was put to sleep Feb 16th- over a month prior to learning about the tainted food recall.
She began with soiling, sluggish, weak and discomfort, by the 3rd day she had serious neurological disorder which our vets indicated was rare for her age, but could be vestibular disease. They had no official dx or named illness for what she had- she had tremors like Parkinsons Disease (my mother has pd so know neurological disorder when I see it)- Brandy became blind with hazed over eyes- and she had severe brain damage on the left side of her brain. The vets stated that if it was vestibular disease, they never witnessed a case so severe as Brandy. Here it is over a month later, and all the peices to the puzzle came together- our dog died senselessly, she held on for 5 days for us, she didn't want to leave us- she didn't start to let go until I told her it was okay to let go- that morning her body temp dropped and we took her to have her put to sleep. She was a smart dog and very human like- compassionate and loved other people/animals. It is a shame that HUMANS can't be that way, instead they are self absorbed and do not care about others well being!
MENU FOODS to be specific! |

| 167 | Sandra Schreiber | I have 1 cat that died on 02-22-07 and 1 that is still sick. Has anyone from Menu or Nutro contacted me after leaving several messages?? NO!!!! I just angrier every moment. |
| 168 | Bonita Tomes | My cat died January 4, 2007 at a vet in Louisville, KY. They did take a blood test on him that same day. He had every symptom associated with this recall and there is no doubt in my mind that the Iams canned chicken food I was giving him killed him. It is sad that the recall came out almost three months later. The cans have long been gone in the trash. This is ridiculous that they are only reporting 17 animals dead when the numbers are way over 1,000 the last time I checked. They are under-reporting on purpose. The public needs to be aware of how many animals really have died from this! I am going to my vet tomorrow to get the exact levels of my cats blood test results. I was so shocked and histerical when he died that I can't remember everything he told me that came up unusual in his blood. He was even puzzled on some of the results. I feel the same as I did when my father died a year ago. My cat slept with me every night and he meant the world to me. I will never get over this! |
| 169 | Marilyn Hunsicker | Someone needs to be held accountable. With all the "checks" that companies are supposed to have, this tragedy should never have happened. I demand that restitution be made to all the pet owners who incurred any expense, no matter how minor, due to this betrayal of the public trust. I demand that a very public apology and also private apologies be made to those pet owners who lost their beloved pet or faced the possibility of losing their beloved pets. And I demand that more stringent standards be put in place so that this does not happen in the future. And I demand that all animal food products labels now contain exactly who is producing the product and the location. And I, for one, will no longer buy any pet foods by those companies named in the recall. |

| 174 | Marie Piotrowski | NO corporation should escape punishment for poisoning our children, whether human or 4-footed! These are NOT just animals, they are sentient beings who suffer just as we humans do when we are poisoned. Sue them until they are out of business. How dare they kill our babies to pad their bottom line! |
| 175 | Anonymous | I have lost 2 of my puppies due to the contamination incedent and no amount of money can bring them back, but isnt there supposed to be testing and measures taken before this type of thing is able to happen. What if it were babie food, oh yea IT WAS because half the population considers their pets their children. I guess that wasnt thought of as a first concern. |
| 176 | joyce l bennett | we lost our beloved lois yesterday to kidney failure. she was a beloved cat 11 years old, who spent 8 days in the hospital. that was her first time away from home. we are senior citizens who treat our pets like children. may all pets be treated with love. |
| 177 | terry robbins | I lost a cat and a dog within the past four months and now my yellow lab is showing signs of salmonella or kidney failure. I have three more dogs and a cat, I do not want them all to die painfull deaths. |
| 178 | terry robbins | I lost a cat and a dog within the past four months and now my yellow lab is showing signs of salmonella or kidney failure. I have three more dogs and a cat, I do not want them all to die painfull deaths. |
| 179 | Daniel G. Caruso | I have a dog who is now 11+yrs old and always has been a healthy dog. She is a Golden Retriever and had been suffering from renal failure issues since last fall of 2006. I've found out that Purina Corporation had voluntarily recalled their Alpo Prime Cuts with gravy, for tis product contained wheat Gluten. I've been feeding my dog this product for many years and found that she was getting sick last fall. Come to find, from a blood Profile taken from her at the Vet showed she was suffering from Renal failure. On a scale of 1-15, she was diagnosed as a "7" on that scale towards fatality.
I'm coming to believe that since I've changed her diet the last few months she struggling to get better, and she is, but very slowly. She had lost a lot of weight and had behavioral changes. She had also fought a stage of Jaundice in November '06. One strong dog she is, but she still has her bad days. I've had detoxification treatments implemented in the past for her.
I'm strongly starting to believe, and very strongly, that there is a strong possibility that this newfound "poisoning" has been in existence longer than we really know. I feel that this petition is a good idea and it should be known that too many had suffered already. I'm one that could not afford hospitalization for my dog to go through clinical treatments, I'm disabled to a degree (severe hearing loss), I was directed by a friend who is now a vet and he recommended the diet change and also some all natural vitamins/detoxification solution and they seem to have gotten my dog through the winter months of her sickness. Now she seems to be able to cope better, but still has her bad days....I TRULY cannot afford the vet's hospital bill for her to go treatment for her to go through formal clinical treatments, also was going to get her up to date vaccinations last fall, but the vet would NOT give them to her because of the illness she is suffering from. The Vet was afraid the vaccinations would cause more problems to her health at that time. I still need to get her vaccinations in which she's never been behind on.
I need help here and I also believe that because she's been so healthy all her life and a real big part of my life, unconditionally, The manufacturers should be liable to pay for her to get the treatments she badly needs. Manufacturer, Purina, should have made a notice of suspicions sooner than they had. It's their responsibility to do so as a manufacturer that needs to maintain a customer base. I've always trusted Purina's name-brand products, until now. I don't know who to trust anymore since the USA has outsourced most all their packing plants and so forth. This has got to come to an end and get our product inspectors to go through a serious revamp of re-educating themselves and also to improve their line of work. These Manufacturers may be conducting testings of their products to the extreme before hitting the market with their line of products, but it still isn't enough, a tainted product still crept through the distribution lines.
This has to stop, there are many concerned animal lovers out there, like I, that have been going through too much more than we can handle over this issue.
both emotionally and financially. Too bad the animals can't have the power to speak for themselves other than through their sicknesses. That should never have to be so! |

| 181 | Scott Snelgrove | It seems our beloved 20 month old Egyptian Mau cats at this contamintated food. We had fed the cats Nutro brand food for the last year. We thought we were safe since our "use by" dates were in November. Today I now see Menu has fessed up to using the tainted wheat guten in previous batches with dates going back to November, which our cats DID eat. This misinformation and flat out lying of Menu Foods is very frustrating for consumers. I just returned from the vet lighter $200.00 for diagnostic tests. It is very unfortunate most of the pet food supplies are playing CYA and are not forthcoming with good information. It is my hope Menu Foods is sued out of business (sorry I don't care about the emplyees at this point, they can find other work). This has been very stressful for the whole family moslty on my 9 year old who keeps asking after each news story "is my kitten going to die?" I wish everyone affected by this mess the best of luck with their little furry friends. |

| 183 | Anonymous | As a long time animal lover I guess it was only a matter of time before this happened as there are no regulations in Canada for pet food. Our dog has been fortunate that we only buy Science Diet Senior Advanced so this has not affected us. Time the governments smartened up!!! |
| 184 | Michelle Breedlove | My dog had been sick for over 8 months, we spent over $800 at the vet. He was throwing up blood everyday and lost 15 lbs. We now have him on Benieful and he is happy and healthy again. |
| 185 | Anonymous | my dog was vomitting, had diahrea, had difficulty breathing. went to vet- put her on prednisone for 2 weeks. after that, she seemed to have kidney failure= drinking, belly distended, not eating. made app't. to have her euthanized, but we had snowstorm and couldn't get to vet- i use wheelchair - so cancelled app't. she is slowly recovering. i now cook her food. |
| 186 | Everett Croes | Our dog was also posioned and has a kidney failure. He is still being treatd for this. We would like to support and participate in the lawsuit. Please keep us advised. |
| 187 | Carol | I've fed my 13 year old Yorkie, Priscilla, Purina Prime Cuts with Gravy for years. She ate as usual one night, wouldn't eat the next day, started vomiting the following day, then drinking her 7 pound weight in water. I thought she'd picked up a stomach virus. I kept checking the news that week to make sure Purina wasn't on the list. A day later, on 3/30/07, I learned Purina had put Priscilla's food on the list. She spent 9 days in the animal hospital and by the grace of God has survived but must be monitored carefully and return to her doctor frequently. She was so sick her doctor gave me her cell phone number to call day or night while at home for this trial period. Priscilla received treatments of saline solution (potassium chloride) IV's to flush out her system with metoclopramide and famotidine 40 mg (injections) and cefazolin sodium. It's not the $1,300 vet bill that infuriates me. It's the fact that this little girl has been so ill. It's changed her personality. She only had cataracts and was never sick a day in her life. Dumb me. |
| 188 | mary mazzone | ITS A SHAME ALL THE ANIMALS HAD TO DIE TO BRING OUT HOW HORRIBLE THESE PET FOOD COMPANIES ARE AND HOW THEY TEST ON CATS AND DOGS AND TORTURE THEM....STOP ANIMAL TESTING!!!!!!!!!! |
| 189 | Anonymous | My dog is at the Vet right now with kidney failure. Of course, this only happened after feeding him dog food that has since been recalled. How pathetic is it that billion dollar companies dont have enough money for QUALITY CONTROL.... |
| 190 | Carolyn | I had to put my dog down yesterday because he had blood in his kidneys. They were shutting down and there was no hope for him. He was eating Ol' Roy. |
| 191 | geo. hadlund | my dog sick, saw vet, then she had kidney failure. made app't. to euthanize her but snowstorm forced me to cancel app't. i in wheelchair. am cooking for my dog who is my companion. |
| 192 | Linda Bunn | I have 5 that died and 12 that were sick. One was not sick because she will not eat wet or moist food. So out of 18, 5 died,12 sick, and 1 healthy cat. |
| 193 | Yhana Whitworth | My 10.5 year old rottie female/poisoned. I purchased/fed 13 cans of poisoned pet food over 3 months time. I have the proof from my grocery store. She had normal blood work the last week of December and died of renal and liver failure on 4-5-07! My girl fought to live. While she was fighting for her life I continued to feed her the very poison that was killing her! This is a horror I will take to my grave!!!!! Could someone please tell me the current value of poisoning my child for months..and while her appetite was failing I encouraged her to eat MORE poison. Then when I saw her lab work. I held her in my arms, while she trustingly looked, lovingly, into my eyes. I then allowed my vet to stick a needle into her and kill her. What, pray tell, is the going cost of that?! How will I ever forget it?
Yhana |
| 194 | Miriam Lewis | In memory of Molly O'Reilly died of kidney failure on 1/22/07 from eating toxic pet food. Prosecute all responsible for poisoning our pets through prosecution, financial liability and firing squad under public execution. This is an act of WAR against our Country, our families, our beloved pets...NO MERCY to the responsible individuals, corporations, etc. |

| 198 | Donna Boyd | My love one was just fine , love his Iams well i feed him as always one can a day and hard food though out the day, well after him eatting the first day he was just so lovable and then the second day he ate and then he was sick took him to the vet, said he blocked and give me some thing to give him and we went home and continue to eat his Iam food for a week and had to take him back to the vet. and they had to keep my love one for week and it cost me $700.00 ouch!! But i pay it it was so hard to do because i make minmize wage had to ask friends and family for help, so any way i feed him for 3 more day and then hear about the pet food that was tampered with and found out that Iams was on that list of bad food i was shocked i thought that was a great line of food, well guess what ? I had 2 four pack of the ones that they recalled, sad part of it i feed him 7 cans!! i was so pissed off about it, I called the Iams company and guess what they did for my love one , Send me 6 coupons for more food , that just broke my heart, I thought they was so high on the list for the best around, that why they are so high in price, they didn't even say sorry cool heart, i try diffrent food but my love one only wanted Iams, i feel they could of often to help in anyway, just took my name and address and give my coupon what a joke!! i like for them to pay me the 700.00 back. that would heel my heart . | 199 | Roxanne Malara | I had two Siamese cats who ate special Kitty both died! After spending thousands of dollars in Vet Bills they were both put down just a few weeks apart. Two years later I am still heartbroken |
