| 112 | Ginger Bish | My sweet little Chantilly died February 25. I held her and cried all day. She was the best , most loyal and loving friend I ever had. She saved my life once when a huge vicious yellow lab was going to attack me. She was between me and that dog in a flash even though she was only a quarter of the size. It took 2 days to build her casket because we were so distraught. We both cut a locket of our hair and put it in with her with dried rose petals. Today I read that they knew pets were being poisoned BEFORE I bought the canned food. Then to really cover themselves, they didn't announce until a couple of weeks ago. That way the "evidence" of empty cans would be long gone to the trash. My sister sent an email sympathy card telling me to think of all the good memories. I tried that, but all it did was make me think how empty life will be without her. Nothing will bring her back and no other dog could ever replace her, but they should be held to account. |

| 118 | Larry | My 4 young children are still very distraught over the apparent poisoning of our 17 year old cat, Cairo. She was a beautiful Absynnian. It was the most heartbreaking experience as I was giving her IV's everyday. Then one morning, about 4 weeks ago, I took her near lifeless body downstairs and started to give her IV in front of all four of my shocked children as they watched her take her last breath of life. We had started to move on but now we have to suffer again. Our cat was perfectly healthy until we started feeding her the Nutro pouches food. We never had to take her to the Vet until this now apparent food poisoning. Let's hope we can make a difference for the lives our pets suffered and sacrificed. |

| 135 | Janetta Griffith | My beautiful Siamese, Zoe, had been my friend for nearly 17 years. She ate canned food almost exclusivley for the past several months. Mostly Fancy Feast and Iams, chicken varieties. She began being sick in late December 2006, fainting! She continues to not feel well, but enjoyed her food, eagerly, several times a day. Suddenly one day the first week of February, she went down. Found her laying on the dining room floor with her head down, and she had just vomited, mucosey stuff. She went to the litter and again, she laid on the floor with her head down. I took her immediately to the vet who said she was in kidney failure due to her sudden bad breath. The vet encouraged me to put her down because of her age. But just weeks before, she was thin, but well, eating well (only the BEST commercial foods!), she enjoyed life, enjoyed her other companion cats (who did not eat the canned food), and now she is in an urn and in my memory. Just prior to her final demise, I had no problems believing she still had years left in her life. Now she is in an jar. I spent alot of money in January, 2 vet visits, because something wasn't right. And putting her down was also costly - not only financially, but emotionally, and now this mess which I feel sure the Iams killed my sweetheart! A price cannot be placed on that. Yes, sign me up for the class act petition. |

If I didn't catch a brief message on the news Friday nite, about this, I would have had no idea, as I was still feeding her this poison. It's still beyond belief. Financially, the vet bill is growing and very very difficult to pay for. What can we do to get help? I'm still in shock....she BETTER survive! |

| 144 | Eugenia Faust | I have notified the FDA about this matter because I lost my dog May 27th,2006 to kidney failure. Our beloved dog went from perfectly healthy to dead in 4 days. The vet thought she was poisoned and checked that first because she had no prior kidney disease. The tests showed negative for poisoning, but we did not know it could have been the canned food she was fed. The vet had no answers for why our healthy dog developed sudden kidney failure and died. NOW WE KNOW. Anyone out there who has lost a healthy dog suddenly in 2006 needs to notify the FDA. |
