rob blancoI have had it with MLB. They could care less about their fans, espesially my 15 & 12 year old sons who love and will miss seeing Red Sox games on cable this year in Washington state. I'm through supporting MLB in any way, shape or form.
michael savinothis is so wrong I have been a yankee fan for more than 55 years.
David Lipskyi will not leave disshnetwork. I love what thay have over DirrecTV and i pay less for more on Dish. Pease leave MLB Extra Innings on dish.
David Lipskyi will not leave disshnetwork. I love what thay have over DirrecTV and i pay less for more on Dish. Pease leave MLB Extra Innings on dish.
Rick RizoMy love for the game has just gotten stronger just by watching more games provided by my cable provider over the past 2 years. The decision by MLB to grant exclusivley cable rights to the "Extra Innings" package to Direct Tv will only alienate me and others from the game. We fans will remember those (Direct Tv, Bud Selig) that have taken the games away from us. Shame on you MLB and Direct Tv!!!!!
AnonymousI am outraged at this deal. Bud Selig, you have no idea what you are doing. Isn't it your job to bring more fans to baseball rather than to drive them away? You are the worst.
AnonymousI want to watch my MLB team, not be forced to watch those other teams. Why do extra innings discriminate? You can see the big market teams on Extra Innings for the entire season no matter where you live. My money means just as much to me as those big market team fans. Extra innings forces me to pay the same as the big market team fans yet less than half of my teams game (Pirates) are broadcast on Extra Innings. When asked how many Pirate games will be on Extra Innings during the season they are very deceptive and refuse to answer the question directly. But Extra Innings advertises like anyone can see their favorite team all the time if they simply subscribe to Extra Innings. Liars! Liars! Liars! Liars! Liars! Where is the FCC when we need them? What is the FCC doing to correct this false advertising and crooked misleading operation? When will the Networks and Sat TV really deliver to the public what they say they provide on false pretense?
RL HARLOWDirect TV is becoming a monopoly in the sport industry and it is frustrating as a cable customer and a sport fan.
GeriI really thought there would be last minute solution. Selig obviously cares nothing about the fans. There are thousands and thousands of fans who are so angry right now. I, for one, will not get direct TV. It's like baseball, for me, was one of the good things left in this country, but our congress just sat by and let this happen. More pressure should have been brought upon MLB. It's outrageous! We need some lawyers to bring a class action suit against Selig and his cronies.

AnonymousIt is a true crime that baseball has followed the path of the NFL and signed an exclusive deal with DirectTV. So much for caring about the fans - once again the almighty dollar wins. I know that I will never support the MLB channel! To bad MLB is protected by the government from competition, a new league may be exactly what this nation needs to revive the game, and give it back to the fans.
DavidKeep the cable option....can live without Red Sox
Chad LynchWay to go MLB. This wil be the dumbest move since the strike.
Peter MattinaWrong decision by MLB if it wanted t go international
Sean in Portland, OregonIt's April 1st and not a word about this on any media outlet and when I contact Dishnetwork they say they are working on it. Typical money hungry BS, time to go watch college baseball instead. Go Blue Jays
BradThe monopolization of the distribution of content from MLB, NFL or any other sport is a terrible disservice to fans of that sport. InDemand, DirecTV, Echostar, MLB and the Senate Commerce Committee should all be ashamed of their appalling business practices. Please do not deprive the fans of our "National Pastime" from watching our favorite team from the system of our choice.
Matt EdlingMajor League Baseball's decison is the latest and most egregious example of the Selig administration. MLB has based this decision with absolutely no compassion for the legions of fans who do not live in their team's market or have access, financially or contractually, to Direct TV. It is deplorable.

TimI've been watching my yankees on comcast extra innings for years and i love it! Please don't let this go through
AnonymousThis is an outrage!
Scott RathbunThis deal just shows that Bud and MLB has no respect for the fans.
AnonymousIf MLB thinks that fans will subscribe to Direct TV just for baseball - think again. No WAY!!! We love the game, but no one is a fan to make the owners richer. Play BASEBALL for the fans - without fans the MLB folds - no matter how many broadcast contracts you have.
Chris StellyU N B E L I E V A B L E ! ! ! What ever happened to open market?
Ron SmithI got rid of Direct TV years ago because they were not responsive to the people they serve. Now, they still control my viewing (or not viewing, in the case of baseball). Very injust!
mark CheplickI have calbe and can't see any baseball games....I won't support baseball at all! No Cable, no more buying tickets to see a game when I'm back in town.
Robert Lawrence
PilarThis is for my dad! Keep it on - he never misses the games on Comcast! Think of the the die hard fans!
AnonymousNow I get to stare at the METS and Yankess all freaking season.
AnonymousThis is the worst and stupidest thing Bud Selig could have done. No one is going to switch to Direct tv or sit at their computers all day just to watch some games. The extra innings package was created so that across the country could come home from work, grab a beer, put on their sweats and watch baseball.
Dan SpiegelUnreal. Just unfathomable how this deal can get passed. Looks like just when we thought everything was wrong with this country, we get more proof. This is a no-brainer to block this deal, yet it gets through for whatever backhanded and corrupt reasons. Hopefully the outrage will reach the right people and this will be overturned. What a joke.
Richard LoCascioOne of the things destroying this country is the word "exclusive". A few years 2K Sports bought the exclusive rights to MLB video games. That's why there is no more MVP Baseball unless you have the PC version. EA Sports did the same with the NFL. Blockbuster is the only place where you can rent certain movies now. And now this... it is greed, it is only hurting the American people. Put an end to "exclusive" now!!!
AnonymousThe decision to sell the exclusive rights to air ML games to Direct TV will in the long run hurt baseball and will not significantly increase revenues for Direct TV in the short run. I myself will not change Dish and I bet many subscribers won't do it for baseball alone. It is really and outrage and a stupid move for MLB!
Matthew Huardsad day for baseball fans.
Carrie ThorntonWe need this bad.
Carrie Thornton

AnonymousI cant not have my mlb... I just cant believe it will be taken away.. I cannot get a satalite where I live.
Terry HendersonI went from paying $160 a year to watch my Red Sox to now having to revamp my whole houses tv system which will cost almost $800. Thanks for nothing Bud. Once again, you have proven that you are an incompetent retard.
Steven BookBaseball just recently regained its popularity not to mention its fan base. If this deal moves forward I have a feeling MLB will be heading back to the early 90's.
AnonymousI am outraged!! I am a yankee fan living in Boston Red Sox territory and the only games I will be able to see regularly are the Red Sox. MLB should be ashamed of itself!!!!!
Teri KrauseI'm not going to cancel my longterm contract with Dish Network to give Selig, Dupay & Rupert Murdoch money. It's the fans that lose, and the small market teams. It's a monopoly & I won't be bullied into joining
TJ KrauseYour greed is hurting baseball & it's fans. It was dirty to do this at the beginning of the season - shame on Selig & Dupay
Carl KrauseI'm not moving to Direct Tv - period. I'm happy with Dish Network and don't want to switch and won't do it for a few months of baseball - baseball & their fans are the ones that lose.
Hiep MaLove how they're always thinking of the fans.
Binh MaSadly, I will miss MLB because I will not switch to DirecTV.
D. MooreI tried to get Direct TV the other day and the tech told me that I will not be able to get reception b/c of the big tree in my backyard that covers the direction the dish has to face. So, after attempting to spend $100 a month, plus another $160 to watch my favorite teams and sport, should I now spend $2,000 to get the 80-year old tree taken down??? This Direct TV thing is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AnonymousIm from New York and live now in Puerto Rico. I can not beleve that MLB will not let me see my METS games on dish. First they black them out in the playoffs for a local canal that dish this not carry, now their going to take away our reg. season to......

Mike McCurdyIt was published today that Baseball's central office paid $77.3 million in salaries and benefits to 231 employees. The NFL paid $41.5 million to 839 employees in 12 months ending March 31. Commisioner Bud Selig earned $14.5 million and Bob DuPuy, baseball's chief operating officer, received $4,875,000. But wait til you see how much they end up making in 2007 after they got their greedy little hands in Rupert Murdoch's gravy deal. How much of DirecTV's seven-year, $700 million offer for Extra Innings will go to those two 'Directly'? They don't care about the game or the fans. They'd rather shut out anyone who lives in an apartment that can't have a dish, or the other 84% that got Extra Innings via cable or Dish Network.
Adam RiderI am pissed at both parties. I live in Illinois, but could spit into MO. But i am blocked from watching the Cardinals. No cool at all
