| 1001 | Don Harper | If MLB needs that money that bad, let them get if from the owners. MLB prtotected the owners by letting thier big time players continue to play and draw crowds, despite knowing of thier postive testing for Steroids. Allowing Direct TV exclusivity strikes at the heart of a large part of the fan base. |
| 1002 | Steve Lammey | This is total bullshit. There is no reason for Direct TV to have a monopoly on this. They are saying that only 200,000 cable subscribers are at risk--that adds up to $34 million at a package price of $170.
Do the math Selig. |

| 1004 | Christopher Grove | I was perfectly happy with shelling out close to $200 every summer so I could see my beloved Red Sox in my new home, the land of the Evil Empire. However, my Manhattan landlord will not allow me to install Direct TV. Therefore, in me, MLB will lose a fan and a decent source of income. |
| 1005 | Ted McDonald | |
| 1006 | Ray Keenan | I have subscribed to MLB Extra Innings for many years with my local cable provider. It would be a severe misjustice to prevent the average fan of any age to enjoy out of market games normally provided by the local cable companies. |
| 1007 | Joe | Bud Selig is the Fredo Corleone of Commissioners He switched the providers to the same system as football to make more $, the only problem is this isn't football it's baseball. I will not switch to Providers nor will I sign up to get games online.... Sorry Bud |
| 1008 | Anonymous | This is not fair; monopolies are bad. |

| 1013 | Charlie | This is very disappointing since my sons and wife love watching baseball with me every night. It is common place to get together and be a family. This puts a very sour taste in my mouth about the whole business of sports these days. How many yachts do these guys need to waterski behind? |

| 1015 | James A. Irvin | Direct t.v. is not available for me, no chance to get any package |
| 1016 | mike mcgrath | forcing die hard baseball fans to buy direct tv is a bad deal for everyone |
| 1017 | pamela Krouse | We have had comcast baseball package for years. We are extremely angry that we will not be able to have the same service. It is awful that a company serving less than 15% of video consumers will be the exclusive provider of Extra Innings. Turly Un-American!!! |
| 1018 | bryan dunham | |
| 1019 | Jonathan Lear | The DirectTV deal with MLB is an absolute joke and as a diehard Yankee fan living in Gaithersburg, MD, this infuriates me beyond description! Please put MLB Extra Innings back on cable, where it belongs! |
| 1020 | steve d'angelo | I have had extra innings package on Charter for last three years. Its not just my favorite team I am upset about but the various players and stories that I wont be able to follow either. Also loved to listen to Vin Scully call the Dodger games late into the night. |
| 1021 | Trey Rogers | This is a disgrace. Thanks MLB for alienating more fans |
| 1022 | Frank Kurzawa | I have subscibed to "Extra Innings" for the past three years since moving from Chicago to Tennessee. I was shocked when I called to renew this year. This is very bad for MLBs relationship with it's fans. |
| 1023 | Anonymous | you are ruining my life |

| 1025 | Brian Gebert | I should not be forced by bud selig and his greedy goons ,who i suspect have alot to gain in the stock market by betting on this deal. |
| 1026 | John Pataki | This is an outrage! Bad for baseball and bad for fans living away from their favorite team's home market. |
| 1027 | Michael Barilla | This deal will make me boycot baseball and all it's paraphenalia |
| 1028 | Anonymous | My family is OUTRAGED with this deal. We have been St. Louis Cardinal baseball fans for over 30 years and yet we live "out of market". Indeed, it was the ability to watch out of market WITHOUT HAVING TO BUY ANOTHER SUBSCRIPTION that led to my son's intense interest in the game of baseball. He even chose to go to St. Louis for college just so that he could be close to the team. None of this would have happened had we had to watch the games using Direct TV.
In my opinion, this clearly mercenary decision will be as harmful to Major League Baseball as the last player's strike. What it really says to the fans is that money is MUCH more important and fan loyalty.
Shame on MLB for this callous decision. Shame too on Direct TV for being a party to it. |
| 1029 | Melissa | I don't understand why this package can't be available to all services, dish and cable. I will not be buying tickets or merchandise this season. Go to hell Bud Selig! |
| 1030 | Jennifer Fuller | I think this is ridiculous! I will NEVER get Direct TV under any circumstances!!!!! I have gotten the Extra Innings package every year for the past 6 years. I will NOT be bullied into going to a crappy cable provider for so that the rich bullies can have more money. I promise that MLB has lost $170 from me each year. I have a feeling I'm not the ONLY person who will not purchase it this season if we have to go to the crappy provider whose cable goes out every time it rains. I hope you lose tons of money if this goes through. |
| 1031 | Joe | Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Selig |
| 1032 | Steve | very disappointed in this deal |

| 1036 | Anonymous | I am an avid baseball fan, but will be devastated if the proposed deal goes through. I have the triple play with Comcast, so I have no desire to switch to DirectTV. If MLB goes through with the deal, they will lose me as a fan. |
| 1037 | Brad Whalen | I've been a loyal Extra Innings buyer for years. I live in a condo and Direct TV is NOT an option. My DSL connection is inconsistent and I'm not spending another three hours a day staring at my 12 in laptop monitor so I won't be watching MLB this year. |
| 1038 | Brandon Lambert | Baseball is part of who I am as an American. Living in Washington DC, away from my Illinois roots, where I grew up a Cardinal fan --- has made me grow closer to baseball as talking about it has served as a wonderful avenue to bridge my friends and family.
Because I can't afford to move and live in an apartment that has Dish Network installed for myself and three other units, I basically have no feasible means to view games this year.
We are not allowed to run cable because of zoning regulations.
Basically, I've lost my ability to view baseball, which will affect my happiness and connection with others in more ways than I expect Mr. Selig to be able to appreciate.
This isn't just a business or a game for some of us, it's our life.
I hope Mr. Selig finds a passion some day before he passes. One that goes beyond money and self-interests.
Let's do the right thing here and allow companies to make money while allowing citizens like me to keep our national pastime in our homes.
You should be ashamed, deeply, deeply ashamed. |
| 1039 | Anonymous | i live for this! astros suck |
| 1040 | Anonymous | I am very disappointed that I will not be able to view Extra Innings on Comcast this season. |
| 1041 | Paul | |
| 1042 | Sean | |
| 1043 | Fred Sabatine | Say it ain't so, Bud |
| 1044 | Kyra Giesel | This is ridiculous for those of us who have contracts with other satellite tv companies. We are trapped in a contract and still cannot get the MLB season pass for tv. This is very unfair. |
| 1045 | Anonymous | This deal is a huge ripoff to all baseball fans. MLB does not seem to care about their true fans. |
| 1046 | Anonymous | no longer get to see the yankees regularly
what a disappointment to fans i waited for this time of the year in vain |
| 1047 | Todd Perdue | Say NO to Direct TV mandate!!!!!!!!!!! |
| 1048 | j. vicory | this is ridiculous and will have a huge impact on how many games i attend in a negative manner as well. i might have to bump hockey up as my new # 1 if nothing changes. selig is a fool, and i like baseball less because of his decision. |
| 1049 | Bud Selig | I hate myself. But not as much as i hate the fans of baseball. |
| 1050 | Will N | This is America, freedom of choice!!!!!! I should not have to be obligated to one service (direct tv) which does not owrk on rainy days anyway to see baseball, hey Charles Carey..... what is wrong with a little competiton. |
