The petition
Please let me thank you in advance for taking a few moments to read the below statements and for signing our petition.
Since our initial attempt to address the situation with this teacher/coach a few months ago with the local and state board of education, she has gone under investigation by the Sherrifs department for misconduct with a student and/or students.
It concerns us that with all of this negativity surrounding this teacher that everybody is OK with her continued involment with children.
"I was appalled at the information you wrote me about, although I can tell you, sadly, that it is not that unusual for coaches, athletic directors, principals and school superintendants to act this way. Such incredibly unprofessional and mean behavior."
Honarable Bernice R. Sandler, Senior Scholar Women's Research and Educational Institute, Washington DC
"I was limping for more than 3 weeks everyday after that practice and I fear that the surgery that I was trying to avoid would be inevitable because of being forced to do something I told the coach would harm me."
, MHS Senior
"The AD gathered information from the coaches that had caused the pain to my daughter. Not once did the AD have a conversation with my daughter on what happened." "Instead of disciplinary action of the coach, I received a communication that in effect said it never happened."
, concerned parent and former MHS coach
"she told me in the phone call to "never" address her as Kelly again, that I can call he Coach Abdo. I was offended by this tone and felt it was abrasive and it was very unbecoming of a coach and teacher."
, concerned parent and MPS employee
"To this day, I am scared to pass her in the hallways at school - with or without people accompanying me."
, MHS student
"Picture yourself being the parent of a volleyball player who comes home crying and so emotionally upset and explains to you that during practice their coach was running a punishment drill and a teammate was injured and left Lying on the floor with three coaches looking on and doing nothing??" So, I ask you does this promote self-esteem? Does this promote self-reliance? No, this promotes mental abuse!"
concerned parent
We could go on for hours about the "abuse" this Teacher/Coach has subjected these students to, and others that are afraid to come forward, but if you sign this, maybee she will never get the chance to harm anyone else.
Thank you again!
