Early misdiagnosis. Lyme diagnosis 8 years later with third infection (this time was the first of the three identical symptoms with known tick bite, rash and positive test).
Lack of treatment and concern from Primary Care Physician.
Advised against treatment by Infectious Disease specialist at first hospital followed by increase of numbers and severity of life threatening symptoms, numerous E.R. visits etc.,
Incomplete treatment at second hospital.
Eventually found help outside mainstream medicine with Lyme literate docs and have had symptoms greatly reduced to manageable health.
The damage was done by early misdiagnosis and lack of early treatment. The restoration was due to prolonged antibiotics (beyond recommended IDSA guidelines) and herbal supplements.
Similar story with two of my children.

As we have been pushed to doctor and doctor, we have come to realize that if we had a swollen-gorilla size knees or knuckles, we would get help. But we have neuorlogical Lymes that is in our organs, blood, and brain. The government is completely ignoring the neurological/brain/blood infection of multiple strains of borrelia when it comes to the American people being sick. All the while they fund multi-billion dollar programs to study Lymes in the lab as a bioweapon. Then they send a protocol of denial on to the everyday, do-what-the-government-tells-us-to-do, non-independent doctor as the summary of help for the sick patient. Meaning the sick patient is sent home to die. It is as stark and as real as this. The waste of time, resources on this country is a source of embarassment and a scourge on government bioweapon programs that are there to "implement prevention and treatment of diseases resulting from natural outbreaks or terrorist attacks." What an insult that they take my tax money to fund programs related to my illness and then turn and force my insurance company to NOT help me saying that this disease is not that important. FRAUD. |
