| 1530 | Nicole Rottkamp | How can the IDSA board who decided on the current Lyme Standards not be in jail for having personal financial interest in the recommendations, test, and treatments? I was bitten by a tick and 4 yrs ago denied treatment from over 10 Doctors for the mental, emotional & physically debilitating symptoms I was experiencing all due to the inaccuracy in the IDSA standards and recommendations to use a faulty test and only treat people who have positive results. It took over 2 yrs to find a Lyme Dr who would help me. Although I may never be cured, I’m getting better from high dose/long term antibiotic treatment. I therefore demand, both United States Houses of Congress to investigate Lyme Disease Diagnosis, Testing, and Treatment protocols currently under the Center for Disease Control, CDC, The Infectious Disease Society of America, IDSA, the American Medical Association, AMA, and the American Academy of Neurology. |

It is a crime that the CDC, IDSA and pharmaceutical companies are dismissing this disease. The proof of this illness is in the patients
It is a crime that Americans can not get the health care they need and have a right to.
All individuals have the right to choose what type of health care is needed for thier particular illness and have acces to that care. |

| 1547 | Joanne Drayson | My 6 year battle with severe arthritis and muscle weakness plus several other systmic symptoms was found to be Lyme Disease and after 2 years antibiotics I can again walk upstairs something I could not do for 3 1/2 years. I had been retired from the Civil Service on ill Health grounds but now no longer have pain or debility Life is a joy and that is thanks to ILADS guidelines which my GP was happy to follow because she could see the improvements on antibiotics and decline off antibiotics.
Sadly the restrictive guidelines of IDSA is adopted by our HPA in UK and so many struggle for years with ill health without their doctors recognising and if it is diagnosed many have to resort to private doctors. I was extremely lucky that my GP was able to think for herself. However 6 years of ill health could have been cured in just a few weeks antibiotics if only I had known Lyme disease could be caught in UK. Sadly I thought it was uique to USA.
Shame on IDSA for their ill informed guidelines and lets hope the government can step in and stop the corruption which has global implications. |
