| 902 | Ion Ghera | I grew up in Old Town; I find this underhanded deal very disturbing!! Apparently Latin believes public parks exist only to futher their private interest. |
| 903 | Shannan Blagg | This is shameful!!!!! We pay too much in tax already and this will NOT be for public use and you know it. School security issues alone would prevent that. Our parks are one of the few differentiators for our city. Preserve them for future generations!! |

| 905 | Collin Anderson | This is in violation of two things I cherish: (i) the public lakeshore is the single greatest thing about Chicago. (ii) there MUST be transparency in government. This is a horrible idea. |

| 911 | Anonymous | This is not in the best interests of the residents of chicago and totally the wrong use for a PRIVATE SCHOOL. |
| 912 | Anonymous | Public grounds are for public use. We should strive to match the costs associated with development to the individual/institutions that enjoy the benefits of that development.
The addition on soccer fields to the park would be great. I am happy to have my tax dollars go towards them...but only if I have the same rights to enjoy those fields as the high school.
These discussions and decisions should transpire in an open forum to allow for full disclosure, proper debate, and dissent (if applicable). |

| 919 | Daphne Robinson | The parks should be free and available to all Chicagoans, not just those who have money! Parks should be able to be used by school groups, but not at the expense of the greater populace. |

| 924 | matt berkson | I am a 14 year alum of the Latin School and all I have to say is shame on Latin, the Park District, Mayor Daley and Alderman Daley for letting this happen. It sickens me every time I pass that construction site, which is upwards of 8 times each week. |
| 925 | Steve VanderVoort | I am deeply distrubed that the Chicago Park District would sell out the people of Chicago on a "sweetheart deal" that does not benefit the Lincoln Park and Chicago community equally. Where with this privitization of our public spaces end? |
| 926 | Wendy Haran | |
| 927 | Melinda Cross | If you are going to make an athletic facility on public park--make it something that more people can use--running track, tennis court, etc. How many tax-paying adults in Lincoln Park play soccer????? Ridiculous! |
| 928 | Jacqueline C. Brave | Money may talk, but it doesn't guarantee what is says is legal or intelligent. |
| 929 | Ken Egan | Your work is commendable.....the Latin School tried to sneak one past, probably with their influence, but it's the people's park, and should remain that way. |
| 930 | Ed Motto | Last year, I personally called Vi Daley (alderman) and asked about the soccer that The Latin school wanted to build. Ms. Daley said, "it will be used by the community and there will no alliance to the Latin school"... What a sellout. Great representation of our alderman. |
| 931 | Val Schreck | I oppose the privatization of the parks. I oppose the behind the scenes way the Latin School & the city came to this 'deal'. |
| 932 | Patricia Gilbert | Free and open public space must be preserved for ALL citizens of the city. |
| 933 | Molly Roth | Our elected officials do not have the right to give away property that belongs to the public sector. If you're entitled to take my hard earned money, you are required to get my input on how it is spent. This and CCM Grant Park land grab attempt are an outrage. Consider using some integrity. If you purport this is a democracy, then let's make sure that includes a vote by the people who elected you to represent their wishes. |

| 936 | John Hastings | I noticed the Latin School takeover a couple of years ago when I went to the park to read. I was laying on a blanket (not near any playfield) when a class of students surronded me and started playing as if I wasn't there. I moved, but I now regret doing so becuase it has emboldened Latin. |
| 937 | Deborah Shefrin | Please reconsider the contract to privitize part of Lincoln Park...open hearing on the subject are necessary...full public discussion is necessary...do not set bad precedent by privitizing part of the park. It is truly an ill conceived plan.
Lincoln Park is a jewel in the midst of the City and it deserves to be preserved just as it is and enjoyed by tall he taxpayers of the city. |
| 938 | Vincent | Keep fighting the good fight! |
| 939 | Elaine D. Cullinan | This is wrong and should be debated publicly. |
| 940 | Pete Burgeson | |
| 941 | Tom Zullo | Simply, my tax dollars support public works and services. I grew up in a private school atmospher for 12 years in Cleveland, OH. Never did our parents or schools expect public dollars or "services" to compensate for lack of infrastructure. This is incredible that in this time a private organization can walk into a public venue and create a private space. This will only set up future organizations to do the same since they will have a living example to show as a model. STOP THIS NOW, CHICAGO! |
| 942 | Terry Capp | |
| 943 | diane zink | |
| 944 | John Schroeder | Please stop this latest grab of park land for private use. The park should be green and "free open land forever" not an ugly artificial turf for rich kids. |
| 945 | Sherie Presta | |
| 946 | Scott Dresden | As a former resident of Chicago (and the Old Town/Lincoln Park area) and hopeful future resident of the same area I would be very dissaponted to see public land reserved for private use. I think that the Keep Lincoln Park Free plan to use Cabrini-Green land for a multi-field sports complex would be much more beneficial to the area as a whole than chewing up already limited green space in the city. |
| 947 | Laura Miller | |
| 948 | Maja Ramirez | Latin School has enough money to buy a field anywhere else and buy a bus, or several buses, to take the students there. Why should they get prime PUBLIC real estate just because it's close?
I never dreamed they'd be such bad neighbors. I certainly won't consider sending my daughter there! |
| 949 | Sandra Lee | I would also like to see the field restored with grass as soon as possible, so that it does not sit in limbo as a torn up gravel filled fenced off blight for the rest of the summer and fall months. I understand this is a fluid process in motion while various hearings are being held; but hopefully it will not result in a stalemate holding that section of the park hostage and actions will quickly move forward to restore this area of our park. |
