| 802 | Judie Bryla | I'm not surprised at the lack of ethics of the Latin School Administration but I am still amazed that they continue to 'get their way' in such a controversial and unpopular land grab. Is this what the Latin School children are being taught? Shame on Latin School for setting such a terrible example to their students and to the entire city of Chicago.
I have attended some of their meeting where they strongly profess to 'want to be good neighbors' when it comes to the serious traffic problems they create every day, however, I have yet to see that put into action. They are, in fact, very poor neighbors in many ways, but this latest 'middle of night' deal with the Park District is totally repulsive.
This soccer field should be stopped now and forever. I agree with the concept that, if they don't have the space they need, they should move into another location. |
| 803 | Alfred Kanzler | I moved from Chicago to California just in time. With land grabs of public spaces seemingly the norm now in Chicago, CCM & Latin Soccer Field just an example I t will not be long that any organization with deep pockets will take what they want when they want from the public. The Government is just using lack of funds as an excuse to take the money. The budgets could be balanced if all the useless employees were fired and pensions dissolved. |

We are outraged! How could CPD think that giving such a wealthy school access to public land, prime-time hours, AND allowing the beautiful grass to be turned into Astroturf! Have they even thought about how hot Astrotruf can be in the summer, or how much rain will not be soaked up by real grass in its place? I think it's horrible that they're going to allow large sponsor signs, too. It will certainly take away the beauty of the space. Hey CPD, wasn't this land supposed to be for the general public's use? |
| 810 | SM Thanas | I totally support education--but what does this venture teach? Astroturf in a park??? Exclusive use of public lands??? PLEASE STOP!!! |

| 818 | Isela Frontany | Latin School should consider knocking down all those condos and townhomes by them so that they can have their little soccer field. That park should be kept as a "Public Park". |

| 821 | Peter Tortorello | Our city founder recognized the value of keeping the city's lakefront as protected public land. Under NO circumstances can this property be used for private use. The Latin School is a fine institution. However, they have no right to have special rights with regards to our city's public parks. This must be stopped.
Money and political influence should not change one of the city's most treasured assets, its public parks along the lakefront.
Stop this development. |
| 822 | Brian Stemley | I support keeping the parks open to the public. |

| 825 | Edwin Calvache | I appricate all the hard work to keep green space green and public. |

| 827 | Christine Maslan | |
| 828 | Amy Shulman | Since when does public land get handed over to people because they are rich? The park district had no right to cut this deal and I am firmly opposed to it. |

| 830 | Anonymous | This school charges thousands of dollars for each one of their students. Have them purchase their own land without disrupting the livelyhood of other children. Shame on you Chicago for even considering this! |
| 831 | Marie Walz | |
| 832 | Patricia Ahern | This should not happen. If the kids from Latin School need a soccer field, then Latin School should work out a deal with Moodys. Moodys has a soccer field just a little further down Wells street that these kids could use instead of taking public space for their benefit. |

| 834 | Sarah Coulter | This is unfair to have a restricted area of our park for private use - especially the marketing for their sponsors... |
| 835 | jennifer Baron | Our public parks are the greatest thing about Chicago, and should be open to all. Privatization is wrong in any form and goes against the original founders and creators vision of what these lands were meant to be, open to all. |
| 836 | Lauren Hall | This is a public park and granting use to one specific entity is illegal and those who entered into this agreement are immoral. |
| 837 | Nicholas Norris | |
| 838 | Mike Loew | This public park as all parks in chicago should be used for public use and shared by everyone. It is sad to hear. |

| 840 | Therese Quinn | No special deals for private organizations--keep what's public, public! |
| 841 | Louis Duncan Teater | This would ruin my favorite place in Lincoln Park. The park is for everyone, and should not parceled out to a private school. |
| 842 | Michael Harrington | |
| 843 | Thomas Lesh | |
| 844 | Jill Halpern | I believe that public parks mean just that, public. I believe that access should be inclusive, not exclusive.
I believe that our great City should continue to allow our parks and public lands available to the general public.
Thank you. |
| 845 | William Bianchi | STop the privatization of our public lands.
Keep Lincoln Park clear and free for public use. |
| 846 | Anonymous | This is absolutely unacceptable! That is a public Chicago Park, that should not be able to be bought by private parties, organizations or elitist schools. |
