| 753 | John M Yundt | If we haven't already taught our children today that being of financial privilege brings you unfair advantage and access over the less fortunate mass of society...this ought to send the message loud and clear. I wonder how much under the table cash flowed from the spoiled parents of children at Latin School to the public officials trying to grease this one past us? Latin School can do what ever it wants with the property it owns now, but they can keep their greedy little paws off of our public parks to which our tax dollars have gone to support. There are times when I embarrassed to live in Chicago, this is one of those times.
NO WAY!!! |
| 754 | Lori Sullivan | I can't imagine that Daniel Burnham would approve of
an elite PRIVATE school having priority access to any part of a PUBLIC park! |
| 755 | Anonymous | Latin School should find another location for their soccer field, not a public place where so many people and families can enjoy the beautiful lakefront! |

| 768 | Pamela Nosse | I'm appalled that the Chicago Park District would consider allowing park of Lincoln Park to be privatized. The park belongs to ALL citizens and not a single square foot of it should be signed over to a privileged few. What are you thinking? |

| 773 | Lisa MacDonald | I would be open to another field being built on park land if it were naturalized, not synthetic turf and if it were open to the public at all times. I am GREATLY opposed to any and all marketing support, logos and signage being displayed. This ruins the beauty of the park and subjects our children to even more marketing assalts by an overly commercialized society. |

| 776 | Susan Proffitt | I walk my dog in that area of the park so do not want the construction to take up this space. In addition the lights will interfer with migratory birds who follow the lake shore. |

| 778 | susan Touhy | Abe Lincoln, the namesake of this public park, would be outraged by the inequity of this deal to further advantage the private students at Latin School. Maybe we should rename the park after Donald Trump, |
| 779 | Joan Levin | This is our heritage.
Please keep it open, free and clear!
In this crowded neighborhood we need real grass, not astroturf. Latin School should do what every other private school does when they need land -- they buy it (as Francis Parker did) or rent it on the commercial market. Latin School knew this when they built two large new buildings where they did. The park belongs to the people of the City of Chicago -- not to a private school! |

| 785 | Jodi Thyen | This is ridiculous. What an end run...it was nixxed in 2002 so how did it get "passed" in 2006? All our city kids deserve to be able to use this field, not just the privledged few of one of the most expensive schools around. If the park district needed money for a new soccer facility to be shared among the entire public, why not put out a legitimate fundraising effort? This really irks me. |
| 786 | Liz Hamilton | This is outrageous. Latin School is a private institution and, as such, should pay for its stadium on private lands with its own funds. How does this benefit those of us who do not have children at Latin School? |
| 787 | Leandrew Emery | Don't tread on Daniel Burnham. Keep Lincoln Park and all the Chicago Parks open and free for the common hardworking people of this city. The Children's Museum in Grant Park Plan is a travesty on Grant Park. How about placing it in the Museum Campus area with the other museums? |

| 790 | April Cesaretti | This is a travesty. Taking public land for private use - shame on you Chicago. Public land is for public use! |

| 793 | Peter Stutz | My summer architectural firm softball league uses this park space every Thursday evening in the summer. As of now, our softball league has been cancelled due to the scheduled construction of the soccer field. We have nowhere else to go. It is a blatant abuse of citizens’ rights when a public park space is handed over to a private entity for their use. |
| 794 | Anonymous | Our lakefront needs to remain public. How this deal got through without public notice or input should be investigated as a crime. Prosecutions should follow wherever the evidence leads. I'm getting sick and tired as to how this city operates. |

| 797 | Alexandra Dreier | Lincoln Park belongs to the people of Chicago - ALL the people of Chicago - not just the elite who have the means to go behind the back of the law. |
| 798 | Anonymous | As a former resident, I learned of this "land grab" recently and was amazed this could occur. This seems like a terrible precedent to set and something that should be reversed to send the right message to all Chicago citizens. |
