The purpose of this petition is to oppose the decision of the Oldham County School Board. The School Board has denied requests of parents to have their children attend the same elementary school. There are several children who attend this school out of their district. Several of the children have siblings who will be switching schools and parents want the right to have their children attend the same school. Parents have choosen this school due to curriculm concerns offered at other local elementary schools. There are several families that will be affected by their decision. The parents feel The Board of Education has misled them. When applying for disrtict transfers The School Board did not warn there would be a problem and no discussion was held with the parents. We as parents, want our children at Liberty Elementary. We have children already enrolled at this school and have concerns with the curriculm and leadership of the new elementary school being offered. |
