AnonymousA place which has a history as strong as leith's,deserves to have it's own museum. Young people should be taught of their town's history. Whaling...whisky distillery..to mention only 2.

Rosemary SteedLeith with its impressive maritime history is long overdue for having its own museum.

Holly BremberI think this idea would be beneficial to the area of Leith, and for tourist and historical benefits.

reuben welchIts amazing how much Leith has changed (for the better I think !) even in the 14 years I have lived here. Yet the history of the area really is fascinating - I recently dug up a cannonball in my garden -possibly from the siege of Leith over 400 years ago. The sooner something is done with the Customs House building the better - its a disgrace that its just used as a shed, having said that both lambs House and the former Leith Theatre also appear to need the investment !

Jeff BreslinA great idea and long overdue. As a Leith resident I am sure a museum in the area would be well used and much loved. Here's hoping it finally comes to fruition...
Ruth McClounnanI am a born Leither, with family dateing back to before 1800, would love to see a museum in Leith, Leith has a very rich history going back centuries, of any place in Scotland LEITH definitley needs recognition. I live in the States , and love to come home to Leith.....

Bob CoweThe time for a museum has surely now come. The Scottish Gov. should now get things moving.

Andrew stephensongreat idea - so much to say which is currently being ignored.

Matt WattLeith was Scotlands main port when Edinburgh was a small unimportant little place. It is long past the time when Leith once again took it's rightful place - and that place was, is and always will be, well before Edinburgh in importance. A LEITH MUSEUM IS LONG OVERDUE

Annette ChristieWhen I was a wee girl I remember coming to Leith to my Uncle Jimmys chip shop, he had a daughter Jean, anybody know them? I visited there last weekend but it was such a mixture of old and new. It was such a picturesque place, I remembered it for 50 years, now it is losing its character with all the cheap new builds.
Rachel WindsorA Leith Museum would provide a focus for visitors to the area and for regeneration. Leith is rich with heritage and is in danger of losing it all to new developments while the unique history of the burgh is undervalued.
Sarah GaleOh I think this is a fabulous idea! I would love to see it come about.

Lorraine JohnstonLeith has waited for a museum for far too long. A place with such a rich and varied history deserves better. Lambs house would be a perfect location for a museum and it would be a crime to see it turned into yet more flats that only a few can afford. Other buildings that deserve so much better are the Customs House and the badly neglected Leith Theatre.
Ann WellsLong overdue and Customs House would be ideal - before they turn it into flats too.
