The petition
To our respected lawmakers:
When Employee Is Late To Work The Employer Is Not Allowed To Discipline.
Our streets are overwhelmed by aggressive driving, and much of it is due to people who are late for work. Please make it illegal for employers to take disciplinary action against employees that are late for their jobs, so that this portion of aggressive driving can be eased for the safety of all motorists. Aggressive driving is killing thousands of people every year, and traffic at all hours would ease if employers were unable discipline employees when late especially morning rush hour traffic.
It is understood that employers would say that if the employee does not want to be disciplined to leave earlier, but how much earlier should one leave to not be late for work? With the over crowding of our highways that is worse every year, and the fact that no one can predict traffic jams how is anyone suppose to know how much earlier should one leave for work? Should an employee leave for work at midnight to make sure to be on time at six in the morning with the usual drive time of forty five minutes, because at this rate the employee might as well take up residency at their job which is ridiculous? The employers argument really dose not hold water when view in these terms, and employers need to understand that we live in a crowded society that does not always allow for easy commutes. This is just a fact of life that nobody can change, and our laws should reflect this to protect motorist along with employees from disciplinary actions of employers.
Thank You,

Definitions:
There is a difference between aggressive driving and road rage.
Aggressive driving pertains to traffic offenses such as speeding, unsafe lane changes, following too closely, failing to signal, and other negligent actions.
Road rage are the actions taken by an angry driver when they are upset by other drivers on the road.
Common traits of aggressive drivers who often suffer from road rage include tailgating, making rude gestures, passing on the shoulder, pulling into a parking space someone else was waiting for, flashing high beams at the person in front of you, honking the horn, speeding, and driving through yellow lights that are turning red
