Michael DiGiacomoWhomever made this abrupt decision certainly was not considering their clients needs. Playing racquetball at LA Fitness in league was the major reason why I joined. I feel confident that I speak for many other members. If discontinuing the league is the "Corporate Decison" to make without any input from customers, well that will be a decsion that LA Fitness will have to contend with. I know my decision as a client will be to "discontinue my membership" if that is the case. Thank you for listening to a valued customer. Michael
AnonymousThe decision to eliminate the racquetball program is very short-sighted. This program helps grow the sport as well as LA Fitness membership. If there are financial problems with the program or concerns about taking up courts by non-league players, these are issues that can easily be addressed without eliminating the entire racquetball program. I can't think of a better way to create animosity among long-term members.

Joe MarshallThe ONLY reason I and my family have anything to do with LA Fitness is racquetball. If racquetball is not supported, you will never see us or our monies again.

Chris HendersonHow does having raquetball leagues affect basketball? How does discontinuing raquetball positively affect basketball? The main reason I joined LA Fitness was for raquetball.
AnonymousRacquetball is the only reason I joined LA Fitness earlier this month. I'm distressed to learn of the plan to discontinue the organized/sanctioned racquetball program.
Steve MillerVery bad decision! Our club (LA Fitness, Buford, GA) was having a surge of interest in the racquetball leagues and also the shootouts. This new club opened last spring 2007. The first league started November 2007 had 22 players. The next league just started in February 2008 and had 35 players. I am sure the 3rd league would easily hit 50+ players because of continued interest. Many of these players moved from other clubs because of interest in these leagues specifically. Many people also joined LA fitness because of interest in racquetball to lose weight and have fun playing in the leagues. These people were new players to racquetball and were very excited to play in the leagues, learn the sport and network with other players. The highly anticipated Georgia shootouts scheduled for this year were all canceled. Many players were really looking forward to these shootouts and are really upset. There is just absolutely no logical explanation as to why concentrating on Basketball would halt racquetball programs. They aren’t mutually exclusive by all means. Even if you reverse this decision now, many people will still be upset for some time. Whoever is making decisions for LA Fitness has no clue of their customer (member) base.
Hanif MeraliLets keep the leagues, shootouts and tournaments.
Don TugmanI agree with this petition. I don't see how the Rq ball league should effect the BB league. We don't share the same court and different people play rqball vs bb. I strong suggest LAFitness re visits their decision.
George GilbertI am very disappointed that this program was cancelled. I don't understand why LA Fitness can't do both racquetball and basketball.
Mark BaggotThis is very disappointing. I'm now looking for a new gym. I'm going to check out the new 12 million dollar Chandlfer Tumbleweed community gym.
Joe ParrinoBasketball leagues have been tried on several previousl occassions. There has been fighting among participants. This could pose a risk to LA Fitness. The racquetball leagues are well-run, and it's one-on-one, not five-on-five. Although matches are competitive, disagreements are rare. Racquetball in not as popular as basketball, however it has a strong following. Members who play racquetball tend to be long-term members. The leagues are an important part of reducing membership churn. This doesn't make any sense given the real estate investment that LA Fitness has made by installing racquetball courts in their faciities across the country.
Ben ParrinoI was looking forward to playing in a youth league this spring for Middle and High School kids. Racquetball is becoming very popular at my school in Alpharetta Georgia. This is very disappointing.
Rob KesselmanPlease do not discontinue the Leagues. They proivide a structure that is important and would be greatly missed if not there
AnonymousThere are several reasons I have for joining a different club that I put up with because of the racquetball leagues. This will obviously be the final step in pushing me to make that change.
Jerry EllisI joinged LA Fitness in Marietta for the sole reason of playing racquetball. I have participated in the league play and have met several players that I continue to play on a weekly basis. If not for the opportunity to meet others during league play, I would not have continued to play racquetball at LA Fitness and would have cancelled my membership. Please do not discontinue racquetball leagues and related events.
William W. HarrisThis is appalling and not acceptable. Racquetball is the reason for my membership - for which I pay extra for Rball. No racquetball, no 6007726. Your web and other advertising touts racquetball leagues, championships and even prize money. LA Fitness' success is due in large part to racquetball. To discontinue it is a major business blunder.

Lawson PetersTo whom it may concern: I have enjoyed playing in the racquetball program at both East Cobb and Akers Mill, and I know that many of the fellow players I have met through league play have enjoyed the racquetball leagues, shootouts, and instructional demo's for a long time. I would encourage LA Fitness to rethink its position regarding league play as this is one of the few reasons that I am still a member of LA Fitness. If LA Fitness decides to cancel league play I will cancel my membership and join Life Time Fitness immediately. Take care, and hope you reconsider your decision. Lawson Peters CPA 404 227-0028
Gilbert saisthe leagues was my only reason for joining la fitness
AnonymousPlease understand that as players, any reduction to courts and support of our sport only further seperates the customer from the provider! This desision to withdraw from supporting racquetball at your facilities will EASILY make up my mind to NEVER, EVER frequent any of your establishments and will fuel our passion only that much more to take LOTS of our dollars to your competitors who will gladly accept and support racquetball!!! Please reconsider this and realize that although racquetball players may make up only a small portion of your membership bottom line, we can definately affect that line. Respectfully, racquetball players across this great country everywhere!!!!
Steve GonzalezI joined L.A.Fitness back in the 90's for the sole purpose of playing racquetball, where I live now there is no L.A. Fitness or I would still be a member, I feel that any hindrance to the growth of racquetball whether it be leagues, shootouts or what not would be detrimental to the sport we all love so much. Fellow racquetballers please endorse my petition on this site to bring outdoor to Greenville,S.C. W.O.R. needs more states than Califlorizona to hold tournaments. Thank you.
Leron CanupKEEP RACQUETBALL ALIVE!!!!

Eddie Correai only joined L.A.F. to play racquet ball on a regular basis and be in a league to measure my progress and get competitivly better!!

Dan PelletierI have already made my thoughts clear to LA Fitness in a seperate email.
Terry ColwellEast Cobb, Georgia
Isaiah MotzHow does having raquetball leagues affect basketball? At my high school I can see a growing number of kids starting to play racquetball. Most of them were excited about the leagues and upcoming shootouts. Also, Almost all of them joined just for the racquetball. The main reason I even have a membership at LA Fitness is because of racquetball. Let's keep the leagues and shootouts so we all can continue to have fun and join your club.
John D.I am very disturbed by the efforts of the management of LA Fitness to force the discontinuance of the racquetball leagues when it is supposedly OK to continue the basketball leagues. By claiming that basketball leagues are allowed to continue because it is an "Olympic" sport is quite frankly a weak and illogical excuse for allowing it and not racquetball leagues. The racquetball leagues were a primary criteria in my joining LA Fitness. Many members, including myself, are extremely disenfranchised and disappointed with the way LA Fitness management has handled this entire issue, by not offering its members any rational explanation whatsoever as to why valuable members should be denied the opportunity to continue the leagues which is actually an enticement for new players and potential new members, and then on the other side of the coin still allowing the basketball leagues to continue. Unless this situation is quickly remedied, I will be one of the many members who will be seriously considering discontinuing my membership with LA Fitness. The health club business is highly competitive in today’s market and the management of LA Fitness would behoove themselves to realize this fact before continuing to disenfranchise its existing members in this underhanded fashion.
Chris Wright
Gary MoyeThe racquetball leagues were the ONLY reason for my membership at LA Fitness. If this decision is not reversed, I shall cancel my membership.
Rodney Wiggins
Anthony MillerI joined LA Fitness last year specifically to play racquetbal in a weekly league. If the league goes away then I would most likely stop going to LA Fitness and cancel my membership.

Steve RhodesRacquetball is why I joined LA Fitness. Leagues are a huge part of meeting people to play on other days. The club I left stopped paying attention to leagues and eventually we all left. I ran into a lot of the members of the other club at LA and play racquetball with them on occasion. My point being membership will decline if you do not support racquetball. Why can't we do leagues in conjunction with basketball? Why does one have to exclude the other? I have talked with several other players and we are willing to do the league if allowed & supported by allowing atleast one night a week court block out for about 3 hours.
Cesar VasquezThe only reason I am a member of LAFITNESS is to play racquetball! I really don't see how cancelling racquetball will affect the basketball leagues.

Jon O'CampoPlease do not discontinue the services you provide for racquetball. I immensely enjoy all the activities associated with racquetball I participate in thru LA Fitness. I have played in at least 10 Shoot outs over the last year or so
PEI CHUN J. YANGRacquetball is the ony reason I signed up for the membership of L.A. Fitness !!!!
Nick Santucci
WILLARD SCHEURICHI JUST DON'T SEE HOW A RACQUETBALL LEAGUE AND A BASKETBALL LEAGUE CAN'T EXSIST TOGETHER.
Charles SmithThe only reason I joined La Fitness is to play racquetball. I was already playing at another location (-non La Fitness). Once I learned of league play I new it was the right decision. Now, in the last few years, my game has drastically improved, but most of all I have met some great and genuine people in various social class levels and we all play together in one class fairly, competitively, and with great enjoyment. Thank You La Fitness for this and more!!!
Gary HidalgoWOW, Greg Sheffield is a legend in the racquetball family, I had the pleasure to meet Greg, watching a match one day and tell him wow how do you play this game of racquetball in 1995. Greg advised me and took his personal time to show me for over 45 mins to show me the fundamentals of the game of racquetball. It took me a while to learn with several great groups around the Chino, Ontario Marriott's club for 4 years on and off. While i have meet Greg several times thru the years and always gave me a hand to learn the game correctly. I started the league for the last several years and greg had always been a great part of the league's and well respect for the years of have been playing 2007 i came in the top 5 for doubles mixes in b's. While LA Fitness want to close all leagues would be a insult to the Legend help found LA Fitness Premium Gym for Racquetball. No other gym had a legend and a following for one man and sport he help guided and people followed. I would not renewed my membership and want a refund for all the tournaments for this year. I will send you a bill for all the expense of my membership and dues for all leagues i would go across Southern California . I just renew my membership why was this not posted?? Why would LA Fitness do this to it's member when they join for all different reason but racquetball has all the benefits of a healthy work out and leagues are a money maker.!!! Everyone is in mourning the lost of our legend that is a BIG STAR TO 1000'S OF PEOPLE AND LA FITNESS IS THROWING SALT ON HIS GRAVE FOR GIVING UP THE SPORT HE HELP BUILD FOR LA FITNESS!!! DON'T DISCONTINUE ANY LEAGUES FOR THE SPORT OF RACQUETBALL!!! GARY HIDALGO 909 239 7080
Jim TeeterPlease keep all parts of organized racquetball. That's the reason 16 of us left 24-Hour Fitness on the same day and joined LA Fitness.
Vincent DeLaTorreIt would be a shame if you were to indeed cancel racquetball leagues as well as the shootouts...I travel to Florida and I'm always bragging to LA Fitness members there how great it is to have this program...You get to meet super people from other clubs. I had conveyed this to Greg about this prior to his passing...Please don't do it.....
danny eckleyI am currently the rball coordinator for LA Fitness / Perimeter Point, Atlanta, GA. The members strongly oppose this latest decision to discontinue organized racquetball programming. I share the members' concern.
Misty GoldstoneThe racquetball leagues and shoot outs are valuable programs that LA Fitness needs to continue. I used to be a 24 Hour Fitness member and canceled my membership to join LA Fitness because of the racquetball. My physical and mental health has vastly improved due to the competitive games with the leagues and tournaments. Playing a game with some buddies is not the same as competing when there are points or rankings at stake. There are so many wonderful people involved with racquetball at LA Fitness; some of them have become close friends of mine during the past few years.
