On the night of September 17, 1988 Michael Kelley who was 21 years old at the time was shot in the face by Kossuth Anthony Green. This happened at the local Burger House where the young people gather. Green was there because of an argument between his sister and her boyfriend which had nothing to do with Mike Kelley. As the young people gathered to hear the usual arguing that would go on in a situation like this between Green and the sister's boyfriend's family member, Tony Green without warning picked up the his loaded pistol from the seat of his car. He shot out the window into the crowd, without caring whom he might hit. Green sped away and was apprehended in another county several hours later. Mike Kelley had no connection with the Green family nor the family in the argument. Michael Kelley died on the afternoon of September 21, 1988.
