John GildayRecall
AnonymousI attended Monday's meeting expecting a far different outcome. I am shocked and deeply saddened by the actions of Mayour Lauinger and Councilmember Hodgens over the past few months.
Leon WarmanI feel that Jim Lauinger has egregiuosly compromised our city government and is unfit to sit on the Kirkland City Council let alone occupy the position as Mayor of Kirkland.

Bonnie FletcherI am just furious that a small number of well funded citizens can railroad this city into doing what they want. It will be interesting to see what happens to the City of Kirkland in the years to come as long as this group has a stranglehold on the City Council. They all, Greenway, Hodgson, Asher and Lauinger need to be thrown out so the concerned citizens who want to see this city survive can help those who want to build it up. I wonder how many of the people who support Civik live in complexes that would be voted down if they had to build them today.
Jim HitterWe can't wait till the next elections to get rid of these people. Recalling Lauinger is an important first step.
Carolyn HitterThis recall is important for Kirkland's survival.

AnonymousI am very pleased to sigh this document. I only wish that Jim and Tom, and Ms. Greenway would understand the amount of dislike and dismay their actions have created. Tom is simply a man without honor, Jim, with two bankrupt filings continues to run the city as he has run his past personal life - and the city is now in debt millions - he must go. Jim - if you read this, please just go, you have done enough damage - this city will not heal as long as you are on the council.

Laurie StanleyIt really is time to go Mr. Mayor. Think of it as a last, nice gesture to the citizens, a way to heal the rift.
Mike StanleyPlease go quietly, it's the right thing to do

Mike NykreimHe never should have been elected, let alone become mayor. There are so many better qualifited, good leaders available in our town who can do a far better job. But Jim is deffinately not one of them

mike nykreimJim never should have been elected. Time for the good citizens to step forward into politics.

AnonymousIf the mayor is not representing the people of Kirkland, then it's time for him to step down.

Mark ClausenI hope the next person to hold this office looks to the future and not simply the past. Dear KirklandRecall, Sorry about the one person who ruined it for everyone. You took a stand and I congratulate you.
G. MichaelsonWe want new leadership. The last month has been an embarrassment.

D. FranklinI believe we have to take the gov't back from the City Council... they no longer represent us - they represent their friends.
I. JohnsonMany sincere thanks to KirklandViews.com for getting this address to us, without it I would have felt as helpless as last Monday! Please step down quietly and with dignity Mayoe Lauinger, the citizens deserve it and Mayor McBride or even Mayor Sternoff would lead us out of the darkness. We have lean times ahead but if we revamp the council, end favoritism and tighten our belts, we'll be able to get Back to Black (with apologies to AC/DC)
Sue ContrerasThank you for starting this-something definitely needs to be done about the 4 council people who vote "NO" on everything needed to help Kirkland prosper. This is a start.
Mr. & Mrs. Larry ThompsonWe will sign any future recall petition if this one is really closed. I agree with others who stated that The Mayor and Hodgson orchestrated this entire event and neither should be rehired. Tom, please return the other $11,500 you cost us.
Mark V.Take Jessica with you

AnonymousThis was very unethical and unforgivable. We need a leader, not someone who will look the other way.

RaelissaAlthough, I am not a citizen of Kirkland proper, I hope my comments will help to encourage others to to recall James Lauinger. I served on the Kirkland Chamber Exec. Committee with Jim and resigned because I would not support or want any part of Jim's unethical and questionable legal practices. What is happening now is no surprise. I also was not in favor of annexation because of Jim and the council's fiscal irresponsibility. Citizens of Unincorporated King County do not want to take on Kirkland's 7 million dollar debt.
Mark KenningtonI'm simply amazed this site isn't better advertised. If each person who has signed could get 2 friends to sign we'd be over half way there. And if each of them get two people then the mayor would be GONE.
joyce buchananjim should be recalled. He was very deceptive and lied about me during my reelection in 2001. He is incapable of running Kirkland. The city is now 14 million dollars in debt and he is going to community meetings saying that utility and property taxes will be raised. He and Asher, Greenway, and Hodgeson are preventing downtown development and in my opinion all 4 need to be recalled.

Ken BuchananA petition under Washington State and/or City of Kirkland code(s) should be filed with the required number of signers to get an official recall election scheduled to remove Lauinger, Hodgson, Greenway and Asher by the peoples' constitutional recall process. How is that to be done?
