Jacquie | Foster | | The Kyber is an amazing space and place, allowing for the community to get together and enjoy a wide variety of art, music and cultural events. It is integral to keeping a culturally vibrant city.
Erin | Smiley | CA |
Rebecca | Muir | US | I grew up in Halifax and only moved to Boston last May. Many of my dear friends, who are great artists and contribute much to Halifax's rich scene, are big frequenters of the Khyber club, whether they're there to gig or just to take in what's going on. It would be a shame to lose this place. A shame.
Sally | Morgan | CA |
Winnie | Fung | US | The Khyber Club to many of us was a convergence space that activated the Halifax cultural scene. The club has seen many performances, many beginning of conversation that led to excellent projects. It's a physical space that housed the transitory cultural community. Professionally trained, talented graduate stayed, they didn't just split town after graduation. Damn it, do we need more gentrified starbucks moca latte or do we want Khybeer. The Club was so much more than just a bar. I would know, I spent 5 excellent years "down at the khyber".

Daniel | MacKay | CA | Halifax needs more cultural spaces; all cities need city-funded cultural spaces.
Elena | Skoreyko | CA | The Khyber is such an asset to the community. There is just nothing like it, ehich is sad in the first place. we should take a hint from countries like the Netherlands, and value the cultural richness that art brings to the table.

Sara | Pellerin | CA |
Shannon | Spruin | CA |
Herb | Theriault | CA | Halifax needs more performance spaces that allow for such programming as the Khyber offers, not fewer. Closing the Khyber, especially in the manner that HRM has seen fit to do, demonstrates that they do not understand the importance of an active arts community that is visible and accessable from the downtown core.
