March 8, 2007 John Potter Postmaster General 475 LâEnfant Plaza West, SW Washington, DC 20260 Dear Postmaster General Potter: I am first writing to thank you for your prompt response to my January 25, 2007 letter asking for some specific complaints to be addressed at the Kensington Station, Brooklyn. Your Brooklyn staff promptly set up a meeting to discuss some changes that would be made to better provide service to my constituents. My neighbors and I would like to make a couple specific requests that would greatly increase the level of service we have been receiving. Our first request is that the 11218 zip code receive a new station (or complete renovation of the existing station). This is necessary due to the fact that Kensington Station was built at a time when the population it was serving was below half of what it is today. An alternative or addition to a new post office would be the installation of a finance unit (a station or branch that provides window services and accepts mail but does not provide delivery.) We would like to see the finance unit in the 11218 zip code at an appropriate location (store front) to provide relief to the Kensington Station. Enclosed you will find a petition from my constituents served by Kensington Station. If you have any questions of concerns please contact Tom Gray in my district office at 718-854-9791. Bill de Blasio
