Nomar Garciaparra is an icon for Boston Red Sox Fans. He personnifies what it means to be a member of the Red Sox, an organization so rich in history, and loyalty from their fans.
We contend that not only does trading Nomar show a lack of loyalty, but the trades just do not make sense. Giving up two greats for one, simply makes no sense. (Manny and Nomar for A-Rod) This is essentially what would have to happen. Manny to Texas for A-Rod, and then Nomar would be dealt to a west coast team.
For a team with the best offense in the league, focusing on picking up another overpriced bat seems illogical when pitching is the obvious need.
But, all of those points really just serve to cloud the main issue. That is that Nomar is Boston, and to lose him would in a way cheapen what it means to be a Red Sox Fan.
In short, we implore you Theo, KEEP NOMAR IN BOSTON!!
