Tamara Drumond | I agree with this law! People continue to abuse the system because they know that there are not stiff enough penalties and fines. I believe if you take a life you should be imprisioned for the rest of yours or something in that order. People would pay more attention if the consequences were more severe. Please get something done!
Angela Killington | Justice needs to be done. Punish these people properly.
Lisa Murray | Drunk drivers murder. why do they get less of a punishment than other murderers!
AVALINE L CHIARO | WHERE IS THE JUSTICE??? HE TOOK 2 LIVES, BABY JAMES HAD A HEART, A BRAIN, ALL HIS BODY WAS INTACT. SO THERE FOR HE IS/WAS A PERSON. AND NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO EVEN KNOW WHAT LIFE WAS ABOUT. SO DO THE RIGHT THING MAKE THIS PERSON PAY FOR WHAT HE DID, GRANT IT THAT IT WILL NEVER BRING THOSE 2 BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE BACK EVER. BUT HE SHOULD NOT NOR HIS FAMILY BE ABLE TO ENJOY WHAT FAMILIES DO, AFTER ALL HE TOOK A FAMILY AWAY, SO DO AS THE BIBLE THE OLD ONE SAYS... DO ON TO OTHERS AS THEY HAVE DONE TO YOU, AN EYE FOR AN EYE. SHOW NO MERCY ON A PERSON WHOM DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE HURT HE HAS CAUSED, SO PUNISH HIM WHERE HE WILL NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY, NOR EVER SHARE ANOTHER FAMILY ANYTHING. WHY SHOULD HE, HE IS A DOUBLE MURDERER, MAYBE THE DEATH SENTERNCE IF NOT LIFE IN PRISON..
| 6 | Amy Pedrazzi | People who take lives in drunk driving cases should be forced to forfit their own. I'm not talking about the death penalty but I am talking life in prison, with no chance of parole.
People don't think when they drink. My family is out there in that car. MY babies. What gives them the right? |

Sebrina Breor | I agree that we need stiffer penalties for drunk drivers. They are careless and don't care about them selfs let alone other people. Drinking is something they choose to do and unfortunatly getting behind the wheel is another choice, they are aware of their limits and know that they shouldn't drive how many times have you heard of someone showing up at work drunk thinking it wont effect their employment never because they know better and they know they will get caught. People who are drunk choose to get behind the wheel because they think no one is watching and they wont get caught, I have zero tolerance for such carelessness. The sad fact is that innocent people are the ones who suffer. Our Judicial system needs to help make a difference and we need to take a stand and say we've had enough, pick any night and drive through town you will see someone driving who you feel shouldn't be behind the wheel due to their driving performance or lack of. I was in an accident we were hit from a woman who was out drinking, My 8 month old daughter almost died my mothers seat belt failed and she was halfway through the windsheild while my 2 year old was in the car with us.She and I had minimal physical damage but a lot of emotional damage, thinking my baby and mom were dead...we were on our way home when she(Lindsey H) ran a red light, in a hurry to get home (she said to the officer) well my mother didn't make it home for 4 months and my 8th month old spent a lot of time in ICU before she made it home my 2 year old and I were released days later. And we were the lucky ones unlike Katie and her unborn son, she should be enjoying being a mom and JR's daddy should have been able to kiss his son on fathers day but that cant happen because of a careless drunk who didn't care and did as he chose, his rebellion forever changed a family, altered their lives, Memories and Dreams. he doesn't deserve a chance for a normal life he needs to be locked up and punished for killing 2 lives. With out the posibility of parole,It's sad that in America you can go to jail longer for robbing a store than taking a life... And we vote the people into ofice. Maybe thats where we also need to focus our attention...

amysue | its time for some justice!!!

| 14 | Moriah Martin | So I am wondering if a woman decided to cause her mature pregnancy to end and her baby was killed by her actions would she not be in prison for murder in the first degree by being careless and causing death to her unborn baby... So how is this sitution any different, he chose to drink and drive and two lives were lost. You've got the facts so do the right thing. He should be given the death penalty. Katie didn't get a second chance and baby Jr never got one at all. It was God's plan for that baby to live and be a part of his parents future and that was forever changed by one persons bad decisions...he made a choice and as adults we all know that for every action their is a reaction and for every decision their is an outcome. And we certainly
know the decision that needs to be made here! |
shanna phipps | in loving memory of my grandmother aunt and uncle who was taken by a drunk driver
melissa m | my you always be in my thoughts and prayers.. and hope that one day, people will wake up and see that drinking and driving is deadly, and will never happen again i think they should up the age to like 25 now. now days there are tons of teenagers drinking its just terrible and a complet waste of time. . god bless!

Tammy Myers | We lost three members of our family to a drunk driver in 2000. He is already out of jail and living his life while we still pick up the pieces. It's time the laws changed, drunk driving should carry the same sentence as murder. May God grant you all peace. In Memory of Faye Blankenship, Gloria Duncan and Junior Duncan
JAN HOCKENHULL | OUR PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOU AND YOURS....CHECK INTO NM DWI LAWS, I THINK WE HAVE THE TOUGHEST THERE IN PLACE, JUST NOT FOR CHILD ABUSERS AND CHILD KILLERS
Rebecca Aikey | Keep Up The Good Work!!!! We Will Always Remember Katie & Sweet Baby James.

Crystal Adams | Im so sorry about what happened to you guys. I wish you the best of luck with everything. Let me know if I can help in any way. Im praying for you all.
Cynthia | This seems to be an ever growing issue that needs to be addressed desperately. Check out the statistics on drunk driving. No wonder the these funeral homes make more money than anyone else.
John Munaretta | My wifes Mom and Dad and Grandma got killed by a drunk driver, and we still have not got over it including alot of other familey members, the justice system only gave him 1 to 30 years for each count, after he spent 3 years in prison then we had to go before a parole board, we kept him in for just one more year, now he is out and living back in our neighbor hood, and free as a bird with no remorse or anything for what he done, the justice system needs to have longer more strict sentences for this kind of behavior, from what I know he acts like he is the victim and that he served to much time in jail and he truly believes that, now he is free he got his job back and got only 4 years for killing 3 wonderfull people! Our familey will suffer many years of grieve from what he done, and he gets out after 4 years, his suffering was only temporary after all he did not care anyway! My heart goes out to you and familey! John and Teresa
Lisa Bailey | You are always in our thoughts!!
Crystal Gullett | I think all drunk drivers that have killed someone should be given the max sentence for manslaughter, and in Katie's case, he should be charged twice.
Heather Flood |
Christina Hubbard |
| 30 | Maria Shultz | To Many Drunk Drivers get away with killing people because they were drunk.Harder sentence needs be inflicted on these criminals. They get off easy because they say they were drunk. It is an excuse. This is wrong Manslaughter is Manslaghter.Homicide is Homicide Murder is Murder whether you use a car gun knife bat ect.The guy that killed my son said He was drunk. He was treated lightly in my eyes It gives a reason for people to not be responsible for what they do. There is no excuse.
My Heart goes out to Katie and James Jr. and there Family. |
Angelina Krell |
Laura | I've heard of many cases where the drunk driver gets a slap on the hand. This is wrong! Stiffer sentences are necessary. Peace

Jessica Baker | Pass this law! RIP Katie and Baby James of MA and the White Family of NH...killed by drunk drivers!
maggie kuhn |
April Franks | This law needs to be passed, something NEEDS to be done. How would you feel if he was YOUR baby?
Pamela Rose | I think that we need tougher laws for DUI offenders. It's got out of hand, a slap on the wrist wont do it. Take a stand and do something. I love my children and my grandbabies. If something like this happened to them, I would be in jail because I would commit murder!!!
Paula Richardson | I think the people that kill innocent people just because they are stupid and irresponsible and get out on the roads after they have drank should get life in prison and i think they should have to look at the wreck scene, the people they killed, and thier families every day of thier lives like... pictures in thier cell that they cant remove !!!!!
Melissa Ross | I so hope that this law passes!
Dawn Gillard | WE ALL NEED TO STAND TOGETHER AND STOP DRUNK DRIVERS THE LAW IS WAY TO EASY ON THEM.
James Forrest | I am here to join the fight. This young lady and unborn son needs the justice. So I am here to support this all the way..God Bless..
holly brooks | becka. i miss you. r.i.p
Heike |
Kristen M | We must demand changes right now we are losing so many each and everyday to drunk drivers..We do not have time..PLEASE think of this mother and child who did not have to die
Tyler M | I am a 17 yr old student over SADD in my school. and my mom fights for changes. Please help all these familes and students. Something has to change.
Brande Thompson | I THINK THEY ALLLLLLL NEED TO STAY OFF THE ROAD AND BARS SHOULD ATLEAST TAKE THE KEYS OR CALL SOMEONE TO GET THE DRUNKS I LIVE BESIDE OF A BAR AND SEEN A DRUNK COME OUT DIDNT KNOW WHERE HIS CAR WAS AND THEN WHEN HE DID FIND IT HE GOT IN COULDNT FIND WHERE THE KEY WENT AND THEN HE FOUND IT AND LEFT CAME BACK AND PARK IN THE BACK OF THE BAR SO I CALLED THE COPS AND THEY CAME BUT THEY LET HIM DRIVE HOME SOOO I DONT THINK THE PIGS WILL DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE DRUNKS
Kim W | This is a good law and needs to be passed.
Shawn Dardar | I agree with this, the DUI laws DO need to be tougher than they are. 2 lives were taken in that accident, EVERYDAY people die from drunk drivers.
hershel thompson | They need to lock them up for the rest of there lives you get a harsher punishment for harming an animal than you do taking an innocent life I dont feel that its right there should be breathalizer test put in the bars at the doors and no one can leave unless they take the test if they are over the limit the bar should have to call a cab or a cop to take them home they should not be aloud to sell beer in stores either and if so they should lessen the quanity down to like a two or three pack and make it to where you are only allowed to buy one of them and figure out some way of making them have some way that the cashier could prove they have not bought beer any other time that day they should just out law it all together but we all know that wont happen my girlfriend just lost her sister in february 2007 to a drunk driver she was 18 and only had a couple months left till she graduated my girlfriend still cant deal with it
