Sherry BurrowRCBOE needs to learn you will not shut us up. Might does not make right.
Dee HawkThe staff should be fired and charged with child abuse. Shame on these adults
green4Gravel'08This is an outrage. Institutional abuse is abborant, whether perpetrated in a nursing home, mental health facility or in this case, a school for autistic children. This will not be swept under the rug! We demand justice for this beautiful little girl, punished for the crime of being different.
Terry BirchIt is time our legislators in Georgia, start seriously looking at how the special education students are treated by the Institutions we pay money into. I am a taxpayer and a disgusted Republican, registered voter, and citizen of Georgia. Sonny Purdue, where are you in this? When will the powers make public schools accountable? Representative Tommy Benton of the Education Committee - are you paying attention. When will the Georgia Professional STandards Commission investigate allegations? When will the Office of Civil Rights find in favor of parents? What do we have to do? This is wrong and it is time to make it right.

CHERYL SANZOTHIS IS SICK THIS POOR CHILD NEED BETTER CARE I HAVE A BI-RACIAL CHILD AND IF MY CHILD WERE TREATED LIKE THIS I WOULD BE IN PRISON.
Kimberly StarrI am outraged. Unless you immediately act in the best interest of and to PROTECT children, based on the information that is ONCE AGAIN being presented to you about Kayla Edwards and other vulnerable youth, then YOU SHOULD BE PROSECUTED for the crimes that you choose to ignore. I will continue to demand proper action from you (as outlined in the petition herein), spread the word , and work toward Justice for Kayla.

Debbie GantI understand Mrs Edwards anguish because I too have two children that have been abused in Richmond County Schools. I have also been maliciously attack by the School System with the continous harrassment towards my children. These events have led my children to become severly depressed and the other one to have uncontrollable seizures. I say a Victory for Mrs Edwards is a Victory for all!!!
Pastor W. JonesSTOP THE MADNESS NOW!
Jamia ShepherdThis type of Behavior towards Any Child, Should Not Be Tolerated.

Mary NealMY MENTALLY ILL BROTHER Larry Neal WAS SECRETLY ARRESTED AND EUTHANIZED IN JAIL, Shelby County Jail, Memphis, TN on August 1, 2003 My heart goes to Little Kayla and her courageous family! You WILL get Justice ! Mary Neal http://wrongfuldeathoflarryneal.com
Millie BarnetThis is outrageous. I am a retired Occupational Therapist and worked in the schools with handicapped children. I thought there were national laws to require not only protection of handicapped children but special education for them, meaning education adapted to their handicaps. What in the name of decency is wrong with these people? To mistreat handicapped and helpless children seems lower than human beings ought to be allowed to stoop to. What are such people doing anywhere NEAR children?
Dana L. ChapmanI'm ashamed to be a part of a country that would not only allow racial difference, but to abuse a CHILD!! Special needs children, children of color, all children must have rights - Not just white children.

Darleen HerefordI have a grand-daughter, she's 7yrs. now going on 8. Her teacher doesn't like her, she's the smartest child in her class. If my child was attacked, what goes around comes around. It's not that 2 wrongs doesn't make one right but now your're speaking child abuse, and that social worker has breached her oath to protect children, by covering this up, I beleive that a TORT CLAIM might be in order, suing the school, the teacher, the state, the protective service worker, and the police department for abusive behaviors. May God Bless you MOM, May God Bless Kayla. Meditiation: Psalms 27 & Psalms 20 Love You and I'm Praying for You and Kayla, She'll be alright, but don't let this go. Dee

Theresa EdwardsI am Kayla's Mother and I sign the petition not only for my baby BUT FOR ALL THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. My baby along with all persons are supposed to have rights under the constitution. I will never know the full extent of harm they did to my child, I can only imagine what she feels having been beaten and also to watch other children being beaten. My husband and I voluntarily served this country for 20 years to defend the Constitution and we have found out it doesn't exist.
Harvey EdwardsI'm Kayla's father, I have lived through the civil rights fight and remember the day Martin Luther King, Jr was mudered. I also remember the very first day my wife put our baby girl in my arms. The world for me became even brighter at that one important moment, and for every accomplishment that she has made the world seemed right. Then one day my baby came home with bruises all over and the world darkened for me. I can not and will not ever understand how someone could look at my wonderful little girl and hurt her then to tell me I can't prosecute them. If I went out and did something this horrible I would be beneath the jail.
Cristina SilvaPLEASE HELP PROTECT OUR CHILDREN FROM THESE ATROCITIES. THIS HAS TO END. WHEN AUTISTIC CHILDREN ARE NURTURED AND PROTECTED FROM ABUSE THEY BECOME INCREDIBLE HUMAN BEINGS. WHEN THEY ARE ABUSED IN THIS MANNER, THEY CANNOT OVERCOME IT. THEY NEED EVERONE TO STEP UP AND HELP THEM.
Scott Campbell
Phyllis MusumeciNone of this surprises me. I am going through something similar in Florida and they too are getting away with it. I am working with other parents to bring this abuse out in the open. Like you every way I turn is another closed door. No one wants to go up against the school districts. We must work together to stop this child abuse. We are fighting the next civil rights issue. Phyllis
Jordan RiakReaders of this who want to receive free child abuse-prevention materials can obtain them from me. I'll send you a copy of the 16-page booklet, "Plain Talk About Spanking" and 5 KIDS' SAFE ZONE stickers. Write to riak@nospank.net I'll need a mailing address.
Roy EifertThese procedures need to be put into place without delay!
Anonymousi have been there and fought and won against forsyth co school system
Teresa LonsdaleAll children should and DO have the right to an education. And NO CHILD should ever be treated like that.....ever. These people should be put behind bars for their behavior.
Theresa IveyEveryone involved in this horrible injustice should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
