We the undersigned would like to express our desire for you to reconsider the position for Memphis Fire Director. We feel that a national search is not needed when by far the most qualified candidate is right here in our department. Chief Jerry Crawford’s leadership of Tennessee Task Force 1 during the national disaster on September 11, 2001 and his commitment to the Memphis Fire Department is unsurpassed. We feel he has the capability and the support of the community to lead the Memphis Fire Department to a promising and rewarding future.
