For the first time in12 years of watching GH I am writing to express my deep disappointment at the decision made to let an actor go. Jennifer Bransford has done an OUTSTANDING job as Carly and I am extremely angry at this decision. In the brief time she has been on, she has become the character of Carly in a totally convincing way. If Maurice Benard, Steve Burton and Ric Hearst are happy working with, even praising her, I can't believe she has been cut out before anyone (fans)
could even have a say in the matter. If she requested to leave, please say so. Otherwise, please know that I am fuming about such an unnecessary, unfair and untimely boot of an actor that I have truly accepted into the role. I am questioning my faith in GH, and only my love for the other characters (and actors playing them ) is keeping me from swearing off of GH completely. Shame on whoever made this unwise decision. I have accepted many other questionable changes made by the powers that be, but this one has really put a bee in my bonnet! Additionally, they have set up an unfair situation for a new actor to take over the role. I DO NOT want to see anyone else in this role. I resent having been presented a great recast, who I have taken to instantly, only to have her yanked away to be replaced by someone else. I hope I am conveying the full measure of my wrath, even if it is too late. I will remember this injustice, and hope whoever caused this to happen will take it to heart just how thoroughly disappointed I am in their ill-considered decision.
(By the way, I watched Jennifer on One Life To Live as "Georgie" and loved her then, too. What a shame to waste such a great actor, a casting crime to waste her time, and an injustice to mistreat her with such a betrayal.)
