901 JodyTillerWAUSThose are beautiful, hopeful words you are considering abandoning. Please remain at peace. Do not invite war with weapons. Sincerely, Jody
902 OliveWilsonIAUSIf only the US would follow the example of Japan and renounce war, preparations for war, and militarism in general. WE SHOULD NOT BE PUSHING JAPAN TO FOLLOW OUR EXA

904 jEANNETTEBarteltMDUSThe United States needs to mind its own business. Let the Japanese people make their own decisions concerning their fate.
905 SebastianMuccilliUSJapan is a paragon of peacemaking because of its having suffered the horrible effects of nuclear attack. The world needs to observe Japan's determination to remain non-militarized.

917 ElizabethSheppardWAUSI admire the courage of your people in renouncing war and the use of force in settling disputes. Your policy is a model for all nations. I urge you to remain firm and withstand pressure from the US or elsewhere that would have you renouce this policy.

920 PattiKameyaUSIt's an unhappy irony that the U.S., the very country that drafted the Japanese constitution to make it more progressive than its own, now wants to change it. Both American and Japanese people must oppose the worst instincts of their governments.

941 MarieHennedyRIUSMy father was stationed on Okinawa when the bombs fell on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Most likely, he'd have died in any assault on mainland Japan. But how many other children and their fathers and mothers were killed that awful August sixty years ago? To choose in retrospect between two such horrible horns of this false dilemma is futile. War is a stupid way to live: creative non-violence is the answer. For sixty years, Japan has given peace a chance. Please continue to do so! Would that the United States would do likewise. Must we wait until our empire fails, until we learn not to force 'freedom' on others? Thank you, IFOR Japan!

946 SabrinaFallsUSPlease continue to lead the way as a country willing to stand for peace as the only way to solve conflicts. I pray that my own country will someday join you in this courageous and sensible approach to international relations.
947 JoeMortonMDUSThe society which knows most about the horrible effects of warfare should maintain its wise renunciation of international violence.
948 JeanneBarberCAUSI wish we could put this in the US constitution too.
